The one in the first pic is HUGE! Really like pic #2 and #4.

Thanks. Yes that is a huge paly and I guess it grew to be like that. What I mean is that it's never open up fully. Cos the underside of it is green as well. Quite funny though ;)

That huge paly is interesting. An implication of your statement that it never fully opens is that the tentacles are never out and thus they are not necessary for the survival of the polyp.

Yup, think that's the way of it getting food. The shape concave like a bowl waiting for food to be trap inside I guess ;)

Ah, good point. The unusual shape would be useful in the trapping of passing food stuffs, and quite possibly enough so that the lack of tentacles wouldn't be a survival disadvantage.

I wonder if that polyp were to give rise to others if they would be similarly shaped? Its shape could be the result of either an error in its dna which doesn't allow for "proper" formation or some sort of negative environment impact, either chemical or physical, which derailed its forming normally.

I'm not sure if it's multiply is would look the same or not. But I hope it will grow and will let you noes what the babies looks like. I'm not sure the paly is like deform 1 in a million or just another common paly that we seldom come across. Maybe I should post a thread to ask around? ;)

yeah, karlo, that is a sweet little nano. what type of light do you have over that? did you make that tank yourself out of acrylic your self?

really nice looking...
