zoanthid parasite

I must have some sort of zoa parasite on my new zoas. I just brought them in and didn't QT them. the haven't really opened up and are falling off the rock often. It's like something is cutting them from their bases. I can't see a definite parasite, but I'm seeing some translucent pieces coming off of them. Almost looks like they are shedding. Anyone know what this could be? I gave the zoas a freshwater dip 2 days ago and their still looking bad, but some are opening up now.

Have you checked for zoanthid eating nudi's?

can you post some pics? do you see white spots on the affected zoas?

If you have nudis:

The eggs appear a translucent white along with a spiral formation. Pay attention to closed zoas and palys... sometimes it is an indication of nudi around it.

If you want to dip them, try some freshwater with some drops of iodine. That would usually take out the adult forms but the eggs will have to be manually removed; best a tweezer.
