I did not buy these zoa's on RC im posting here because i dont want to give the seller any trouble.

I bought a few frags from a seller on another forum. It was 5 frags at about 15 a piece. I dont want to give them trouble because they held the frags for me after i paid until i was ready for them to be shipped.

The Frags where shipped from cali to miami fl. They where shipped 2 day priortiy. Ive bought frags online before no problems i think these are either dieing or dead. So i need help.

They arrived in a small thermos, the kind u might eat soup out of. The box it came in was pretty small just enough space for the thermos and the bag it came in. All 5 frags where in the thermos ( not in plastic bags) with water in them. It didnt have any styrofoam. Usually when i get corals shipped the water always smells semi bad. This didnt smell good either but i was accustomed to it. The water was nasty. Nastier then usual and since the corals where all shipped together i think it was worse.

Anyways two things when i got the corals i put them in small bucket with some salt water. To get the nasty water off them. When i was placeing some of the zoos in the tank they excreted like a little line of color liquid some orange or green. Kinda like the color the zoa should be:(

Its been two days now in my tank. My original tank corals are all good ( Zoa's Ricordia Gsp )

The new ones have not opened. How do i

A. Help them open faster.
B. Or Declare them officialy dead ? :(

Give them time and plenty of flow overthem. Start them on the bottom of your tank.... Most zoas are pretty hardy. If the start to recieved or shrink you may consider fw dipping them.... Good Luck

i started them at the botton of the tank, im sure they need more flow though. Its just that my nano cube (12 gal) only has so much flow

just leave them be and if there are still polyps its still alive. when there is nothing left, then it's dead.

Give 'em some time like everyone else has said. I have noticed that when I get zoas shipped priority mail it take a few days for them to open.

Patience...

a couple had fallen over when i got home today.WHen i moved them back it felt like the inside had liquidated and it was comming out. Regardless im gonna see a few more days. The rest of my tank seems to be fine. Except the new zoas.

How long can a zoa go with out opening
