Zoas on the fritz

I once had over ten frags on my rack now I have two. About six weeks ago I added a fluval g3 canister. Replaced the chem with chemipure elite. My tanks about three months. I clean the g3 every four days. I've noticed my water clearity is outstanding. With only 5.5 gallons of water am I over filtering too much. My lps and sps look good. I know I had zoa pox but I dipped everything. No visible pox. Both zs and ps have stopped growing. Help! Nothing has changed in the tank besides the g3. I keep my hands out.

I beliebe we need more info...
Fishes?
Why did you add the canister?
Why do you use ChemiPure elite?
Whater changes?
Lights?

We can't just think that the fluval (say the filtration of the system) is guilty.
Basically I don't think you need a fluval if there is not many fishes in the tank.
Water params?

Gradis.

I was looking for more of generic answer. I told you i had a 5.5 gallons of water. I dont have 15 fish; just two. I added the canister for flow and better mechanical filtration. water changes are done every week to maintain cal, alk, mag. I have 12 3w leds 5 in over tank.

Now, ive since removed the g3 and have found that everything looks much better. I can only assume i was stripping the water. Ive started feeding azox. tank looks beautiful.

dipped some zoa pox with furan-2. lookin good these days.

I didn't think you would have 15 fishes. I don't know why you wrote that.

Good for you to remove the Fluval. You don't need it. Used powerheads for flow instead.

Alk, Ca and Mg aren't replaced with water changes only and should be added and tested for a better maintenance of both. A stability of a daily dose of those should be better than an once a week trying deal. That will depend on what and how much you have (hard corals). Just a thought.

I never used Azox coral food yet. One more for my list!!!
Target feeding works better than broadcast feeding. Turn off pumps.

I keep seeing folks sayin that zoas don't like "clean water", or that they like "a more dirty water"...

Makes absolutely no sense to me...
