A little Jagged piece came out of the center of one of my Zoa's and then all of a sudden it swelled up like a over ripe berry. I can't find anything on this if the forum. Is this serious or just a stage in it's life?

I work at a LFS, and our show tank has Zoas that look similar but never open inverted to this extent.I'm just taking a guess here....but I think it might be because that specific polyp is attempting to reproduce.....but this is simply based on observation and guessing....so there's no scientific basis for my guess.
