This rock had quite a few true blues on it when I bought it. They all faded pretty fast. They are starting to come back slowly.

I was led to believe that the term "true blue" comes from the fact that they are the same color under any light.

Check these out... I have had this colony of Protopalythoas for a few months and they just keep getting prettier and prettier. I call them Green Stardust PE's... I have posted pics of these here before, but this is the best pic yet!

Wow, an amazing transformation! What is the lighting in each picture? Looks more white in the 2nd picture.

minibowmatt - thats an awesome difference. At the lfs I work at we are always getting in ugly brown zoas and I often take home a little frag of them to see how they color up, my results are almost always good. Your protopalythoas color change is about the best I've ever seen. I'd also like to know what lighting is used in both pictures.

I was using 14K MH w/ 32W of actinic support in both. I think the first one i had the flash on the camera. (i really dont remember- it looks that way tho) You can see how much more green came out, and how the dark purple changed to a more flourescent purple/blue.. I love these... BTW i dont shop my images.. that second pic is the real color

They look VERY similar. Yours have a more pronounced (bulbous) mouth opening and the purple appears thinner on yours. What color are those skirts? Mine are red (purpley red- magenta?) How big are your polyps? mine are nearing the size of a quarter and tall...
Yours are very nice.

Yes-- in my MB7
