Sorry you can't make it Dave. You can just call the zoo when you can go. We will meet again later this week to start up the equipment and do the lighting if we don't get to it tonight.

Regarding the Potential heat issue with one of the vortec's pump. I found this info from the ICECAP forum.

1. re hot running VorTech Pumps: If you have more than one, switch the wet side and see if the problem follows the wet side. If it does, check to see if it's binding up.
It may be that you need to adjust the spacer on the dry side to a thinner glass setting which moves the magnets slightly farther from each other, which may stop the heat problem. If one VorTech is noticeably harder to pull from the glass than the other pump, I'd try this approach.
The comment about looking for a bent pin in the pin spacer or signs of rubbing against the pump's motor driven magnet on the center of the pin spacer is very important. Friction will make the motor work harder and hotter.

Alot was completed last night. Tank is filled and the big DIY rocks are placed. Paul did a beautiful jo on the lighting controls which are now wall mounted and nate and Vince have just abo0ut completed the plumbing.. Now, we are waiting on the zoo to set up the outlet boxes. not much more we can do until then. We can't fire up the Pan World external pump until we have a good line to tap into without tripping breakers. I contacted the zoo and expressed urgency.
Outlet boxes have been situated in the tank room! we are green for go for tomorrow thursday night. daveVG states he will be there around 5pm to work on the external sill etc. RyanM and i will be there around 6:15. Nate will get their whenever he gets there

Well if the plug is the FINAL key then YES I'll bring one. I have a 15amp rated plug I'll bring with me. Will be at the zoo around 5 / 5:30. Was thinking we may want to run a switch to the panworld pump vs pluging/unpluging. I'll know more when I see the electrical setup.

This AM I added some natural live rock and a few softies as a barometer of tank conditions. The good news is that the Ph came down to 8.2 due to the incredible water movement which allows for atmospheric CO2 to dissolve in that neutralizes Ph. I was just amazed at how quickly that occured given the high Ph from the DIY rock. On the bad side the temp was 88 F so I set up the fan and dialed down the heaters. I also had to lower the Vortech power and move them higher in the tank since the sand was getting blown around. They are powerfull pumps. I will try and head back in the AM and add some more rock and check on the system.
I forgot to mention, you guys should feel free to meet at the zoo. Just call the zoo if its going to be after hours or let me know and i will give them a heads up. I may recommend a handle on the inside of the overhead door to0 draw the door in to make it easier to latch as a possibility.
