thanks 650-IS350,

some days ago i put them at the top of the tank, thinking the same you told me about the lights, but i think they are dying faster....i move them bottom. Do u think the lights burn them?

4 - 250 w hamilton mh bulbs

I really don't know what happend

Greetings

Sorry for your losses. As said in the thread above, we are still trying to figure out how to keep this particular zoa for longer.

If yours are dying when put high. Then you go for the middle ground IE' right smack in the middle are of your tank. Not too low nor not too high but recieving ample strong flow.

Thanx friends,

As you told me 650-IS350.... im gonna put the colonies in the middle of the tank, i hope tomorrow post some pics to see the zoos growing or continue dying.

greetings

It's an assumption and opinion.

These things seem to need lots of light and from the previous link to the thread, these don't like being in the bottom of the tank. Folks are having success up high, but with your case you said they've been dying up high. So go figure, middle MIGHT work in your case. But like M.E. stated, all are still trying to figure out the proper care for these polyps. Please don't take what I say as a mandate, its an opinion only. Please read through that whole thread, make you decision based on the info on that thread.

Of course 650-IS350,

I have to try every opinion of each of you guys and see the better option for the zoos and..... when they will be ok... we can have more options to mantain this beautifull animals.

thats all my questions.... please, if you guys identify something wrong in my parameters or anything, please tell me how can i do better.

I really appreciate all your opinions and comments. today i'll put the zoos at the middle.

Greetings.

Water temp is not to high??

Yes but i need a chiller but is too expensive, i need a 150 gals chiller.

have an idea to down the water temp.

Greetings

Get those clip on fans and have them blow on the light and water surface. It should bring a couple degrees down. But you'll get faster water evaperation

+1 on fans, also you can freeze soda bottles with ro water and use them. Lots of work but works. Fans work much better.

Hi Jose,

I thought turning off some Power heads the temperture goes better and UUUUHHHH very big mistake!!! diatoms and cyano.

I turn on all PH and bougth a very big fan, the temperture goes better, but the evaporation is very big, after this I put a timer 1 hour work and 1 rest all day from 10 am to 20 pm.

Now the tank goes better, the cyano go away.

The ZOOS Continuing dying.

Greetings
Arturo

Yes the evaporation will be fast as mentioned by 650-IS350, but all you have to do is fill with ro/di water. I get from 1 gal per day to 4 gal per day evaporation. Bad idea to turn off the PH. also looks like the African zoas like high light and higher flow, but its all different on each tank. I have mine in high flow and about 6 inches from the top on 150w mh. Cal also looks low but I dont think that will cause the zoas to melt. Good luck. Jose
