Zoos under T5s ? and pics

I just moved from a 29gal lit by a 250w 14k MH pendant, and now have a 75gal lit by a 6-54W TEK T5 fixture. Currently most of my zoos are on the sand, i need LOTS more rock. I do have a frag tray i built to hold some of them, it sits about half way up. I'm just curious if i should worry about the zoas at the bottom, i think this light doesn't have quite the PAR at the bottom of the tank that the halide did.

More evidence-------by the way you are misinformed------the t5's if anything with zoas may be too much light...these pictured were relatively shocked by my 4 bulb tek for about a week

anyways here are my only zoas and softie for that matter(i just had to have some pink zoas) in my tank and they are at the smack bottom....they have grown significantly since the pics were taken might i add

my light also allows me to keep montis and some acros at the bottom as well(i dont even run a daylight bulb either---3 ATI blue plus and 1 ATI aquablue)

as long as you take time to acclimate them to the T5 lighting they are absolutely fine. You had mentioned that they have grown quite significantly since the picture. Keep them in a shadier spot for about a week and slowly bring them out into the light, or you can even raise your light. I know many that have t5 lighting and have a tankful of zoas and even some at the very top. The acclimation process is a little tedious but works in the long run.

I have a 75g with the 6 bulb tec light and have zoa's near the top and on the bottom and have never had any problems either way. I also found the colors are nicer under the T5HO's.

I run 1 Giesemann Powerchrome Aquablue Plus+ 15,000k and 5 Giesemann Pure Actinic 420nm T5 Fluorescent bulbs.

I couldn't be happier with my lights.

6x54w on a 75g tank is more than enough for zoanthids. I've got 4x54w on a 55g and they all do great. I've even got some frags that fell back behind rocks where they barely get any light, and they still open up and look good.

I also have the TEK 6bulb on a 75. If i do not take my time acclimating everything including zoas, they have a tough time recovering from the shock. But once they are used to it there is no stopping your zoas from growing
