1,200 gallons of fun!

I had the tanks shipped. Ordered them from "The tank depot". I only planed on getting one, but the shipping doubled the cost of the tank. The second tank only cost like $20 to ship so I ordered two. The tanks are 31*76 Door frame is 32*80 should be close.

Coating the wood panels

Thought I would go into more detail of how I'm coating the wood.

First thing I did was to set up every thing to prepare to mix the epoxy.

I mixed the color about 2 weeks ago. It is mixed @ 3% of part A by mass. part B is 50% of part A by mass, it is in the red and white cup. The acetone is in the syringe It is 5% of the total mass of part A,part B and color combined.

Part B in combined with part A and mixed throughly.

I mixed the acetone 1/3 at a time into the combined mixture.

This combined mixture is poured into a secondary cup. This is done to insure that only properly mixed epoxy is used. There generally is some unmixed epoxy on the sides and bottom and this can result in an improperly cured product.

I start by coating the edge of wood.

I then set the wood down and poured some epoxy on top of it and used a roller to coat the side.

This is repeated for each panel. The red cups let me stack the wood.

Now to let it sit and cure.

What was the reason for epoxy prior to assembling the tank? Wouldn't you get a tighter fit with raw wood and then epoxy coat the finished tank?
