Great job raising and great looking pair! However, the male is not an 'Onyx' variant of an A. percula. I see that term being thrown around so much these days.

They are nice clownfish, but not Onyx, at the very lease the male is not. Both dorsal fins are not black and the male, as Project Reef stated, is not an Onyx. Some people does not consider a clown is Onyx unless the dorsal fin is also black and black connecting all three bars.

they were pulled out of my 55gal. 4 months ago where a GBTA hosted them. both fish were black between all bars. the male never left the nem and lost the most black. he's slowly gaining it back though.

if you want to be technical, anything that bill addison didnt breed at c-quest isnt an onyx seeing that he developed them from a pair of percs that showed no black yet threw out black offspring. he coined the term onyx for his fish. doesnt matter though, there will never be a complete agreement on this issue.
