100 Gallon H. Erectus, Seagrass, Macro Algae Lagoon

Wow, you really keep a powder blue tang with seahorses and even sea moths? I'd think the tang would be making life difficult for the more passive fish.

I am amazed that all of the tangs have not munched all of the algae :eek2:

Kind of, but not exactly off subject

I have a tank set up with the same sea grasses as yours, Turtle, Shoal and Manatee. I went to a LFS today to buy a CO2 injection system but was told Sea Horses wouldn't be able to handle the change in PH. Such as a PH as low as 7.0-7.4 or so. What are the PH & KH levels of your tank? How much CO2 do you add? As in, how many bubbles per minute? Have you had to make any other water chemistry changes specifically for the horses?

Thank you,
Sven

P.S. Your tank is gorgeous.

I blame redmangrove for my new project! He has officially made me change my plan of a 120 gallon SPS tank to a 120 gallon planted seahorse tank :)

Thanks again!

By the way, love the sea moths. beautiful creatures... wish I could keep a pair in my 90Gal but I doubt they'd do that well. I've got enough pods, but I think my lamarck's would scare the bejeebus out of them.

@ OP

Do you have any tips on keeping those seamoths other than keeping them in a pair?
I'm hopefully gonna be getting a pair in soon and I was just trying to find out what would work for these little buggers. I've got the food source basically pinned down for them so I'm not worried about them starving, I just wanna know if there's any tips I can get before these guys go in my tank.

How big is that sea moth? I know they're not huge or anything but are they like a giant dragonet?

Looks like from your tag line you may some experience with the 2 together. Are they compatible, and is there anything else I can put in. Thanks for your advice.

What happened?

What happened to the $1 per seed I had offered to pay you?
I can see your profiting on the idea I started you on! At least honor what was agreed upon before you started selling at $3 each!
That wasn't cool-you never answered my pm's after you agreed to send me at $1 each.

Moderators - please remove my above three post, the misunderstanding has been corrected and I have been advised already.

Thanks!

I realize this thread seems to have been dead a while but I thought I'd ask a question. We know that green macro algae is green and blocks green light but absorbs red/blue right? Well, since your tank has a lot of great growing red macros, do you use any different lighting to promote this or is a 6500k bulb just fine for red as well as green or purple or blue or whatever it is we want to keep? I just didn't know if a bulb that was closer to a blue/green or something would be better for reds or not?
