This place has been dead lately, not that I post here that often, but I am always watching :)

I thought I would start a thread on the project I have been working on for the past month or

so. I work way too much during the week, so I really only have time to work on things during

the weekend. Thus, things are moving along, but slowly.

Here is the tank (from Shooter7 - great looking tank, thanks again)

Here is a crappy drawing of the tank location to just give everyone an idea of where it sits

based on the pictures I have. This was a coat closet in my living room (actually just a

storage closet for all my aquarium stuff for the current tank I have setup.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the tank location uploaded before I took the door

and trim off. Thus, here is a picture looking into the closet from the living room (made a

small hole in the back too :)

I'm much further than this right now actually. I will try and post some pictures tomorrow and give some updats on my progress.

Sweet! I've been waiting for you and Stealyourhouse to start your cube threads on here. I really like cube tanks and I've been curious to see how that one you got from me ends up looking like.

Great demolition, btw...;)

It is. It's one I purchased awhile back, did it on a spur of the moment as they were having a show in STL in just slightly over a week and I wanted it to be on the truck coming here. Afterwards, did a more thorough look at where I was considering putting it and realized it just wasn't going to work for me, so I sold it at a bit of a loss. Thing weighs a ton.

It about killed me and Tom getting it into the house after picking it up. It's heavy, but strong as hell. The overflow would have been better in the corner, but it was made to be viewable from 3 sides. It would have just taken up too much room where ther current tank is, so it was the best idea I could come up with.

P.S. The demolition was much more fun and took way less time than the rebuild that I'm doing now :)

You should have seen me getting it out of my SUV by myself.
Cursing gives you brief spurts of extra strength.

My wife said she heard coming from the garage:

"Holy *$@! this thing is heavy! C'mon you sonofa$@*%!, get the %$#@ outta my car!"

Said she turned the cartoon my 3 year old was watching up a bit more.
I don't even care to think how much that one of yours weighs, Lon!

Yes, here is the skimmer and sump that I got from Mark. I got the pic from him also :D

Now if I can just get the Calc Reactor from him.... :D

I love the way it is in the corner so you can see it from different rooms and sides.
What a great Place for it!!

Keep us updated.

Thanks for all the input guys!

Sticking with the equipment I'm going to be using here is a my Diamond Lumen Arc III reflector. I will be using a single 400W SE bulb to light the tank. This is the best reflector out there right now and looks awsome. My XP 15K bulb should be in today, so I'm going to see how I like that. I really like the brightness of a 10K, so eventually I might go with a 10K and add some VHO atinics. I have a hole cut in the wall, and a hole in the floor that goes into the crawl space. It stays about 60F year round and will turn on if it gets too warm in the closet. I also put the ballast down there to keep the heat out of the closet.

I have it hung from a pully system with a loop at the end. I measured the distance from the bulb to the top of the water and marked it, so that I can change how high I have it set. I can also pull it up completely to the ceiling for when I do maintenance. I also have a 120mm Panoflow fan that vents to the attic (covered up with tape because I did not have a damper on it at the time). This will be on any time the MH is on.

The fans are a little louder than I had hoped, but he pull a TON of air.
Airflow ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ 86.5cfm
Noise ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ 35.5dba
I may look at running then on a lower voltage or putting something on them to adjust them. Either that or eventually buy quieter fans.

I don't know why my image tags suddenly are not working. I'm using the same [IMG*]http://[/IMG*] (without the * of course) that I have been using all along.

Thanks :)
Of course now I am too late to go back and edit. Oh well, everyone can see the pictures now.

What are the deminsions of the tank?
Your cube and set up look really cool, can't wait to see this puppy in action. :)
