I completely feel your pain.

I left my roommates for three weeks with my freshwater tank (when I had my 110) and a half pound bag of food. I came home, and that bag that should have lasted for perhaps three or four months. I got a phone call about midway through my vacation asking what kind of fish food they needed to buy..... *facepalm*

When you came home, was your tank all white and ghosty like mine? Anything survive?

Still *hugs* sorry it had to happen to you. G'luck, and here's hoping you can get things back up and running in no time. Think of it this way: it's always a chance to rethink stocking or equipment while the tank's not going.

Ouch. I recommend using the little containers for pills that have the compartments for each day. Just fill each day you want to feed your fish with the amount you want to feed them. There is no way that your fish sitter can mess it up. Just open it up and dump that day's pre-measured portion in.

Usually, I swear by the 7 day pill boxes, but, between school, work, and getting ready to leave, there wasn't enough time to get them set up.

The real issue was, I lived with three other people. When one person got home, seeing my domestic varieties of angels "beg" for food, they assumed the other roommates *must* not have fed them. So, really, they were getting fed morbidly, grossly over-sized portions about 4 to 6 times a day. Yeah..... you'll burn through a ton of food that way- apparently 3 months worth... and come home to a tank that's ghost white.

*blush* Don't worry. I hadn't had a KATO like that in years (*since my first 10 gallon tank and the first time we stocked it- overstocked it- following the LFSs advice) and *knock on wood* haven't had one since. ^-^

welll i actually found it like an hour or so later

i saw the clownfish swiming around still alive so i caught him and was able to give em to the lfs

and the liverock and a peice of coral not sure if they made it but.

yeah. it smelled awful the next day when io started the cleaning

so i think im gonna try a new set up when i restart it.

before i had a clown and bicolor blenny with live rock and a few zoas

got any suggestions aon how to get it back up eassily?
