130 Inches of Pleasure (500 Gallon display)

@Easttuth
Curious about your foundation...did you have to alter your foundation? Also what kind of foundation do you have? Cool build following along.

I'm in Florida where almost everything is built on a concrete slab. I didn't alter anything.

About to go to work on the fish room today. Should get the basics wrapped up today and I'll start on the electrical this week. Planning on running a sub panel from my main box into the fish room so I can have dedicated circuits.

Sump in fish room or in the stand? I can see advantages either way...

In the fish room. Only thing I plan on going under the stand is 1 hammerhead for the closed loop system. I came up with more reasons to do it that way that under the tank so that's the way I went.

Almost got the fish room shell done today. We needed a little bit more trim but it will be done as soon as I get a free minute this week. Here are some updated pictures, including the Prius bringing home 12' crown molding.

Thank you! That's quite a compliment coming from someone with a set up like you have. Hopefully the rest of the build continues nicely.

Thanks! My two regrets on my fish room is that its not bigger and I got lazy with the insulation and instead of using what you used, I went foam board and it doesnt do as good of job. Keep up the great work!!!!

Looking good, keep up the progress and you will have water in this thing in no time!

Did you strap the osb board on top of the Prius? :eek1: :lolspin:

Looking good Tagging along as well i'll have a 500 gallon acrylic 110 x38 x 30 in my home in may :-) with a fish room in my basement with the tank right above it upstairs on the main floor

who built the tank? with all those cross braces, i would guess bob from Exotic!

Yes sir. I asked for some extra bracing to feel secure.

The walls, molding, etc. was all finished yesterday and I'll be building the tables for the room this week hopefully. Also need to put some paint on the walls, then we should be off and running.

Likefish threw in a spoiler. I'm doing a colored PVC set up. I've never seen a big tank with different colored PVC so I'm going that route. It will take some planning because it all has to be ordered and running down to the hardware store for a piece won't be possible.

Awesome build! I've just ordered a tank approx the same size and I'm curious what you're doing for flow. I saw that you were contemplating a closed loop, what did you decide in the end?

Matt

I go to WWC almost every week and that cube tank is beautiful, you have almost double the tank so hopefully you can make it double as nice, Cant wait to see it stocked.
