How are your Joculators doing? I may have a local source but was wondering about them in general, and their attitude.

Hi bud,

I'm pretty sure you are thinking about a post regarding a single possible A. griffisi x A. trimac, but no certainty yet.

Will let you know if anything pops up.

How's things with you?

Ted

on another note, what is going on with all of these supposedly "tough" angels to keep? Regals, Potters, Multicolors? 15 years ago I would have agreed but with the vast collection improvements, killer foods avail, and increased knowledge about these fish, I am stumped as to why so many are having difficulty. a huge bummer to hear.

Good morning Ted and I thought I woke up early? Any word on collecting Peppermints again? Or since the last collection turned into a not so good experience, is collecting and trying to breed an idea of the past? Oh and Maldives Regal Angels are the best!

I agree with Alton. I personally believe that there are huge problems with velvet with Wholesalers, and hobbyists aren't recognizing it fast enough. The Regal I have right now ate right away and is going through QT quite well. It did however, come with velvet.

WOW thanks so much I had just posted asking what that fish was a local dealer had one at 2,000 but i did not notice the name.

I been in this hobby about 20 years and always did 100% fish. I am putting together for the fist time in my life a reef right now. I purchased a 120 from a buddy and putting together everything I have any buying what I do not. And looking for lots of advice.

I think from what I see I can really get the design and look I want the reef to have by buying dead or dry live rock build a skeleton of sorts and then putting all the live rock and animals on top. I look forward to reading a lot on here
and thanks in advance for any adivice

lol, yeah, I get up early, looking forward to summer! The pep collecting was supposedly undertaken a few weeks ago and might still be going on. Some are earmarked for breeding. I havent heard anything new so I am not sure what is really going on.

Red Sea, Maldives are great and B is getting sweet ones all over place.

Hi bud,

It is a huge bummer that there are such widespread problems. I agree that wholesalers are part of the problem but hobbyists are too. The lack of qt and the lack of a patient and organized qt regimen is enormous.

$2000 for a conspic is a heck of a deal! Even the larger sizes we typically see go for $3000-3500, on the low side. The smaller they are the more expensive they are. The babies and smalls tend to go right to Asia. CB are currently avail which is huge. The smallest wc Conspic in the last decade (1 of 2 under 2.5 inches) was recently sold on dd for $5,500.

look into marco dry rock...email mark
