130 X 36 x 36 inbound...any suggestions?

hey Ted-

Here's the Majestic in an animated gif that Google automatically created for me! Its by far better than any one, of the many, out of focus pictures by themselves!

Ive been establishing a small collection of angels in your honor!
Lol.
Nothing even nearly as impressive. For one, Im scared to death about putting more than 2 dwarfs in a 4 or 6 foot tank after witnessing the brutality of the male Flameback towards its Girlfriend, and a Flame angel I tried with it.

But heres the Short list:
P. maculosus
P. navarchus
P. xanthometopon
ParaC. multifasciatus
C. acanthops
C. multicolor

And i'm forgetting somethings....

Hey Ted-
Heres a few of the little baby Blueface. You can see its healed/healing wounds on its flanks. They were matching red wounds on both sides of the body, in the exact same spot! Terrible....
***EDIT***You can only see a little of the paleness of the healed wound in those pics.****

The multicolor is in that acclimation tank with the blue face. Ill put up some more pics on my thread.

glad she is healing up..tough to see in these pics..

interesting...my male has more blue on its body...

this was taken about a year ago, maybe a bit less...probably around 1.25-1.50inches here...he is a bit bluer now but gets very blue during the long days of summer...the female is very orange...need to get some new pics of them up..would love to see yours, please toss up a pic, they are just stunning little fish,,good luck!!

Thanks! That Majestic had a rough start, with a case of ich right of the bat....
Then I ran the 2700k CFL bulbs, that grow the different species of macro really well on her half of the tank, for way too long...

Now upon replacement, She looks so much more beautifully Vibrant !!
She and the Purple Tang in that tank, with the various other Dithers, are BEASTLY. The PT from Quality Marine is a good INCH thick now !!!

Seems like all of the fish that moved into those 'Natural Method' filtration tanks turn into mutants. As is the case with a Mystery Wrasse that moved downstairs from the new Marshall Islands display I'm building upstairs... That is coming along really well....

EDIT** I won't be hijacking any more of your thread. Apologies. ***

looks very cool and appreciate the update...how is her shyness?
love the pics, feel free, not hijacking at all...thank you, tk...

She is actually pretty bold! Her tank is at eye level when standing. When she sees me near the pond, she knows that ill be tossing some pellets in her tank. She and the PT come to that 2ft short side of the tank that faces the entry way and the pond and start begging. Lol.
Of course random movements give her a start, as does working in the tank....

She holds her own when it comes down to business with the aggressiveness of the Purple Tang...
The PT and another large Hawaiian Yellow may be going into the pond soon...

Killer!

Ted, I'm very jealous of your Centropyge collection, though I wouldn't mind a group of candy basslets or bandit angels either. ;)

Let me know if the Colini ever start spawning for you, I'll take the first flight to CT in order to collect their eggs. :)

Hey Kyle,

Appreciate the kind words. I wish I still had the two. The first Colins was simply huge. Look at her pics, she was almost the same size as the Conspic. As I mentioned, the dd crew said it was the largest centropyge they had ever received. It had some initial problems there and was sent to me fingers crossed. She seemed okay for the 2 few weeks or so then slowly stopped eating and swimming. After a few days, I picked her up in my hand to check her out and she passed away, in my hands. I am not sure what caused it. I thought maybe the small amounts of cupramine in the tank. Kevin was kind enough to say old age, which I would like to believe but I still feel horrible.
Am going to wait before getting a second as there are some other fish incoming at some point.
Hope all is well with you and your fish.
How is the breeding coming along?

TK

The multibars are doing well after a something toxic got into the QT some how, or a parameter deviated quickly knocking the female out for a day. A few water changes and a day later she was back to normal. She's been getting fat, and I thought it may have been her becoming gravid (wishful thinking on my part...), but now I'm thinking it could be her being constipated. So now I'm trying to get more veggies in the diet, but she likes her enriched brine and mysis too much to eat anything with fiber. I'm looking into getting some live gracilaria or ulva to try with her. The male will take occasional flakes. No spawns yet, but I hope when they are in the 65 and are settled in that they will start spawning since I've seen some prespawning behavior.

Glad you didn't lose her, well done..
Try Larry's Reef Frenzy- it now has roe and even the most reluctant and finicky eaters are taking right to it.
There are also a bunch of people that have found success using it as part of their breeding programs...
Here is a recent Karen entry...

The roe blend is currently being experimented with and will hopefully be available on a widespread basis shortly, my fish are loving it..I will post some pics of it later...

Hey T-
I'm curious if you know, why the bandit thats been sitting on DD is priced so high? $1600? When there are other reputable sources with them for $999 and even lower?

I hope this new stupid incident in Hawaii hasnt already caused a backlash, and repercussions seen in higher prices?
Needless to say, the fact that its been on DD for the amount of time it has been, i believe, reflects that the price is too high for the demand. IMO. Its always been a one of a kind, amazing fish. One of those dream fish, but the fact its sitting there i think says something....
Curious as to what you think?

**Edit** I do see that it is on the smaller end of the size availability, and it is one of those reverse-price driven fishes.
** And it was in KK's office tank**
But still, does that really warrant the inflated price? In the past, Bandits fly off the DD list....

Yeah, I think you nailed a couple reasons in your edits..
I would also bet it is a Rufus fish, which imo, are the best caught/handled fish you can get anywhere and worth the extra investment..knowing this fish was thriving in Kevin's office for a couple months is huge! she was treated very, very well, lol...
Call Kevin...

Ted, I have been thinking about getting the Reef Frenzy for my fish, but I am like you and don't want to feed my fish garlic. I know several people who use it and get quite the reaction from their fish when they feed it.
