I'm well over 5k on my 120 that I'm still working on, and I have to spend 300 a month on electricity to keep my 2 bedroom apt cool enough in the summer. I had over 1k into my 24g nano before I upgraded. I would say make your 30g insanely nice and automated instead of upgrading.
