Talk about go big or go home, Congrats!
That is a great project so take it nice and slow. You can also get a lot of support on here, or bareefers, MARS, and Norcalireefs without having to pay for it.
Also, pics or it didn't happen:}

For the price you've invested, and are going to spend, I highly recommend you higher a consultant

Hiring a consultant will cost even more money. The fun of a reef is to read try read try and hope for success right?

Have you used the orphek cannon before? What's not good about them

Should I get a tank and start growing out frags? By the frags grow out I might have big tank ready

Even if I added a few more years of research and reefing experience underneath my belt, 1500 gallons would be way out of my league.

You are missing out! It is HELLA cool and fun with a tank that size. Its like the best thing you can play with for years. You can get the newest and biggest toys to mess with it. But it does cost a lot of money and the humidity can cause damage to the room.

IIRC someone had to tear down their tank because of wood rot or something.

What about the ecoexotic cannon 100w or the 120w you'll defiantly need a few. Congratulations on the Beast.

Thanks... I don't need to really worry about lighting system yet. I'm going to just do fowlr at first and use the 8 400 watts mh that came with tank and deal with it later

Oh yes 2 more days till I drain tank and 7 more days before I get tank to my house.. CAN'T WAIT

Tank is in San Rafael. Will need to move to San Jose any help would be great. Even recommendation of who to hire to move would be good too
Thanks

depending on the date, i can lend a hand. assume its on pallets, so really just need a pallet mover. the 10 foot length might be an issue

Holy cow.
1. I hope you live on a concrete slab house. Otherwise you're going to spend some serious $$$ on beefing up the subfloor.
2. The electric bill with 8x400w halides will have you begging for mercy in a few months. I hope your rich wife gets a big pay raise soon because you'll be paying twice my mortgage in electricity a month. And about $200+- in salt a month and a bigger water bill for all that RODI.
3. Electrical will need to be added. Possibly a whole new box depending on how much extra space you have in your current box or how old it is. Could cost $1000-2000 depending on how much needs to be done.
4. Other have mentioned the humidity. The room it goes in will likely need a humidistat or if its in an open area of your house......you might be in trouble. Expect some $$$ renovations to help compensate for the humidity. A dehumidifier( or 2 or 3)might help some but that's just an additional cost.
Just thought I'd consolidate mine and others thoughts on initial setup issues you'll have.
