Derekff also I'm not planning on doing 30% water change a month. I'm pretty sure lots of people with those big tank don't go and do 20% a month. I'm also trying to make this as automated as possible

Depending on what you have in the tank, you may not need to do a lot of WC. I know it's recommended for weekly changes, but I only do a 20-30% WC every 3 months, and my fish and coral (no SPS though) are fine.

I'd assume that with a much larger tank, it would take longer for the nutrients to deplete, as well as the water should be stable longer.

We have a large tank work on and set up huge tanks, yea they are expensive, but its not the stuff you think of.... Plumbing fixtures were 10k for this tank and for lights we went with 2 Mitras, you will need 4, no you don't have to do weakly water changes, its helpful, but this is a different scale, You have to look at bio load and filtration first. you cant figure that a 100 gal tank cost 200.00 to set up then a 1500 gal tank is 1500.00 to set up, Water flow is one of the hardest, we use pressurized pumps, I have a spare spa pump if you need. Also at that volume you may or may not need a chiller, if you do I can explain how to heat or cool large tanks cheap wiht out fans and evap issues, As for cannons, no it will take too many of them, than they will disco at that distance, we have the Mitras set at 100%

As for plumbing DO NOT USE SPEAR OR HD ball VALVES only use George Fisher, you will find them on Ebay. at 2" and above the rest of them fail and are not able to close when you need them to. We use 2" to 6" and 1/12" 24v DC driven Ball valves, to handle the water

Use extra heave duty bulkheads, and spear scheduled 80 unions or better, all plumbing should be one size bigger than is recommended and then in scheduled 80, no flex pipes, no hose clamps. Almost everything is special ordered or e-bay.

We ended up building a 25' skimmer and a ATS that has 32 sf of screens and is lit with over 400w of leds

Do not worry about frags, you will never get them established nor to a size that you may see, You will need large colonies, Sorry its again a scale thing.

No you cant read a tank that size, it either will work or it will be an expensive failure.

If you want to look at a large set up your welcome to see the issues I faced, and overcame. I live in Benicia.

Still looking at everything I need to do to make this happen. First I got to figure out how to get tank to my house. No moving company wanna take on job. Got 2 that said they will do it when they went to site saw it they just left

Call the company that made the tank and ask about moving services. I heard about a hydraulic flatbed truck that can be handy.

Ill be interested in dropping by ur place to check out ur tank and lmk if u need the sump I have lots of different size tank

Getting it on and off a truck is easy, We used a portable fork lift, it was the easiest part of the set up. Check your door openings with and without the door frames, We had to take the tank in to the rear of the house, if you have to do that, at that point you will need to tell a crane company, you will have to tell them how heavy it is and how far from an area that they will boom over not crack a drive way, but they will not set it up, nor bring it inside, you still will need a small portable fork lift to do that, we needed the fork lift just for the stand. so buy a used on and then resell it works best.

The tank is 820lbs and once filled it is about 15,000lbs not including stand and sump, this is enough to settle and crack a slab, so is your slab cable tensioned?

Any time is fine, I have crashed a few tanks, each crash set us back 5-50k in additional money so learn by my fallers.... PM me and I will give you my address.

Check your door openings with and without the door frames,

This is the first thing I thought of when I read the first post

120 x 60 x 54

I really hope you have a set of double opening doors where the tank is going. At 10' you're not going to be able to move it around corners. Unless you have a great room or other large room that has no center supports you're basically looking at a straight shot into whatever room has the opening.

You know I halved the math doing the calc in my head, the tank filled weight is correct but the tank will weigh 1650 give or take a bit.

More than willing to help with the move, you will need to rent a Rail lift truck from Penske, Do not rent a tuck under nor a aluminum fold down, they come on the 26" trucks. reserve it now, as they need to move it to you pickup/drop place. Again insist on only a rail lift, and make sure its on your order, next there is hydraulic hand trucks, they are made to be banded together and lift heavy objects, any large tool company rents them in sets. this will be the easiest and safe way to move this size of a load. You will also need to rent a Big Joe , I have pallet movers, but to get the tank off a high stand, you will need a small lift to lower it. it won't tale just a few people to push it around, take pics and send them to me and I will help you work through the logistics of having to roll/flip the tank. In fact the more people that are there they more it and them can be damaged, My stand weighed 1000 lb and I move the tank and stand by myself because the fish stores wanted 10k just to move it 8' Figure with rental and food for the crew to set you back less than 500.00 if you need a cane, it will be 1k more

You can send the pic to styledinthewild@gmail.com

I have double door in front. I got 2 choices either turn tank around and move it in with the 54" side or remove both doors and it will fit in perfectly. I'm leaning toward turning tank around to the 54" side which I think will be easier. Also tank will be sitting in garage until the room or the area it's going into is ready for it

So do you think will be easier to hire moving company to do it or get everything I need and get lots of friends and family to move?
Thanks
