150g reef tank build

I think the fan is a good idea, but might be better to go ahead and vent that air outside. That's quite a bit of warm, moist air you'll be pushing into your attic. Probably would never be an issue, but could possibly cause problems. Shelby County changed their code about 5 years ago regarding bath fans being vented into attics due to mold issues. Just something to consider.

Thanks Ryan, I had already come across similar info on mold when I researched doing this. My ultimate goal is the attach plastic dryer vent hose to the end of the PVC pipe and run it to an outlet out of the attic

So, I found that the 1 1/2" connection between the sump and the refugium wasn't large enough for water to pull through as fast as the return pump could run. So I added a 1" line and union to allow some more flow.

Since I used an external pump this time, I had my whole return section open in the sump. I turned it into a frag grow out area. I added a Nano Tuners custom LED light over it. It has 2 blue and 3 white LEDs for a 12K light. Although it looks more like 14K to me.

Everything now moved over to the new tank from the old 75g. Looks good, but empty of fish.

Old 75g still waiting to be cleaned up..... yuck

As for circulation, I have a Sicce Voyager 4 on one end with the front turned to the spiral flow pattern. On the other end, a VorTech MP40 ECO obtained off of ReefCentral. There is also my return pump doing about 1260 gph going through four loc-lines in the tank.

I now have this controller mounted on the side of my stand. It connects to a 30-hour battery backup.

Everything looks great Jay. Do you have any full tank shots? I am in the process of planning out my new tank in the new house. I think I may go in wall with this one.

Fish Update:

I have not had the best of luck with a few of my fish that were added over the last month. The Copperband Butterfly died after a week (starvation I am guessing), the Borbonis Anthias died after I had him for 15 days (died the night I added some new Lyretail Anthias, maybe they scared him to death), and I returned the male Tierra Anthias as he was a bully to my tank.

So, fish count as of now stands at:

1 female Tierra anthias
2 female Lyretail anthias
1 male Lyretail anthias
2 Occ. Clowns
1 Labouts Wrasse
1 Leopard Wrasse
2 small blue/green reef chromis
2 large blue/green reef chromis

i've ben trying differnet anthias for years and seldom get one to last longer than 2 years and they are usually lyretail. Copperbands are just very hard to get to eat. You never know though you might get lucky one day!

...but anthias are such a lovely fish.

My Lyretails lasted until I had my power failure last year. One even went male; the little hermaphrodite! Her/His name was "Butch".

I want some Ventralis Anthias but they are extremely hard to find right now. I had a pair that I kept for about a year and a half. Would like to try them again if I could find some.
