150g Tank Stock Help Please.

IMO, unicorn tangs get way too large for a tank that size. I would stick with smaller species tangs and probably no more than one.

Yep I do agree with you that it would be too small for when the unicorn gets bigger (even now it is too small)

So Im thinking about this for final stocklist:

- Kole Tang (Ctenochaetus strigosus)
- Copperband Butterflyfish (Chelmon rostratus)
- Pair of Lamarck's Angelfish (Genicanthus lamarck)
- Pair of Green Mandarin (Synchiropus splendidus)
- Pair of Saddleback Clownfish (Amphiprion polymnus)
- Starry Blenny (Salarias ramosus)
- 20 Threadfin Cardinalfish (Apogon leptacanthus)

Thanks,
Steve

*Off topic what skimmer would you suggest, as I've heard from BK Mini 200 Gen 2, ATB 1050, or MSX 250.*

Only thing I don't like about the stock list is there is no blue/purple color.

Maybe a pair of Pseudochromis flavivertex or P. fridmani. These are on the peaceful side.

Or maybe when you cycle the tank you could use a few yellowtail damsels or something like that.

I don't know maybe you have some ideas, but I think it needs some blue or purple.

Most of the Kole Tang's I've seen are pretty purple, but I am interested in some Flasher Wrasses or Fairy....know any purple ones?

Wow, color coordinating is harder than I thought...:D I saw a beautiful one (Wrasse) at a local lfs but it was saved for someone else, purple body w/ a reddish tail.

Oh, but right now I decided to change the list again...

- Kole Tang (Ctenochaetus strigosus)
- Copperband Butterflyfish (Chelmon rostratus)
- Pair of Lamarck's Angelfish (Genicanthus lamarck)
- Trio of Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon meleagris)
- Pair of Onyx Percs (Amphiprion percula)
- Starry Blenny (Salarias ramosus)
- 20 Threadfin Cardinalfish (Apogon leptacanthus)

Thanks,
Steve

I like the new list better. As for kole's they are brown at best. Pics might seem purple, but they are brown. If you have a tiro of leopards, eventually one should turn male, and they would have more blue to them.

I have two wrasses that were sold as blue-sided fairies (Cirrhilabrus cyanopleurua). They are a combination of dark pink and purple/blue. I LOVE them. :) This isn't the best picture. The color is much richer than appears here...
