180 gal SPS dominate System -build thread

Well...... The "fork" looking strawberry shortcake RTN the same night. I was devastated However the Oregon tort and other SS is still doing well. They are still on sand and plan on putting them in their final resting place tomorrow.

Any suggestions on where? The tort should be able to handle a lot of light right? The shortcake not so much?

I would place both at mid level. I have my Cali Tort mid level. It has nice colour, blue is intense. If I increase the PAR, it starts to pale a little.

As for the SSC, if you want intense pink and less green, place in higher light. But I would probably place it mid level. I have 3 frags of the SSC:

At high light: Intense Pink..little or no green.

Med Light: More green, tips pink.

Low light: new frag, but is brown.

Remember you have T5/LED, not metal halide. I would be cautious with placing the frags too high.

As for the other frag that died, that is a shame. Are all your parameter in line? Are you using biopellets or any form of carbon dosing?

Thanks. All parameters are steady but mag was low and in the process or getting it up. I don't do any carbon dosing or GFO or carob for that matter. Every other month I might run some carbon.

It's possible it could be from the mag flux. I just hope it stops

Great build very appealing. I really enjoyed this thread, I greatly appreciated the pic quantity and quality

Looking sweeeeeet! SPS looks happy. That remaining SSC looks happy too.

How are you liking the ATI LED PM in terms of SPS colours? -Also, what is your latest T5 combo?

Thanks Sahin. I love the light. I have seen improvement with the sps colors. I think there is still room to grow. My greens are not as intense as they could be but feel that doesn't have to do with the lights. I have a lot of opportunity because my LEDs are only at 50% still

My current setup is
B
A
LEDs
P
B

I like this combo and ramp the LEDs using a coral plus at 30% for an hour once all the t5s are on. I'd like to get the coral plus up to 80% with LEDs but it would cook the corals and prob create a large algae bloom. I will take months to get to this level.

Once I run coral plus for an hour then it goes to royal blue only for the remainder of the day. I don't think I'm using the fixture to its potential and doing my best to take things slow while experiment.

Thanks for the info. Some of my greens arent as good as I expect. But this was an issue before I got the hybrid light. With my previous lights, I also had the same issue. But with the previous lights on another setup, I had no issues...so its not the lights, but either something lacking in the water, or that my feeding needs to get better.
