Well it's ready for fish but I had a crazy outbreak of ich so I treated all fish and I am waiting for 4 or 5 weeks for display tank to be ich free. I am planning on qt all corals, rocks, and inverts. I would like to keep ich free for a long time. We will see how it works out.
what a great thread it is inspiring me to get my tank started. i have a empty tank that needs some fish and water. after reading this it will get me moving forward.
Well started working on the tank some more. I am getting the ATO and AWC setup running.
Well I ran a 1" flex line in the attic about 40 ft.. It goes from my fish closet to the back of my fish tank. This line runs about 100' for $22 at Lowes. This makes for two purpose. One to easily snake any 1/4" tubing I might want to run and if the 1/4" lines leak I can see it running out of the black line and not draining all over my ceiling.
I am using two stenner pumps one single and one dual.
I am blessed with a great wife as I made a mess opening the attic access panel. Lol
Well I broke one of the tubes on my dual head stenner. So had to order a replacement tube. So started working on my closed loop system.
I have been wanting to complete it for a long time just never had the time
Well I know they are noisy but with all the skimmer and pumps and all inclosed in the cabinetry it should not be to bad. I installed it there because I have drain pipe right behind my fish tank that I installed when I remodeled my master bath. So now I have a 1 1/4" drain. So this ment less lines running back and forth. I will see how it works. I am going to set it to run when I'm at work.
So picked up a really good deal on some mp40w 's picked up two for $130. They are both stalling so I ordered new maintenance kit for both. So I hope I get them going. Now I wanted to put them on each end but I can't on one side as the tank is to close to the wall. I don't think I can slide tank 1"
Its very easy to move all we do is drain it quickly slide in two or three sliders and move it over a few inches take the sliders out and refill the water take less than an hr....might not even need the sliders as you have tile
Ok so started installing my panels today
Well picked up a micro pin nailer for $25 at Harbor frieght. I am using this with liquid nails for wood panels. liquid nails has a product just for these types of applications.
I measured and placed a piece of wood to level out panel as my floor is not even so one half of my tank has shims about 1/2" think. This also help keep the panel from falling when I placed it up.
I used pocket screws to put a small removable center brace
