Currently have a 180 reef, 50 gallons in the sump and a 30 gallon frag tank = 250 gallon total with a Bubble Magus Skimmer rated for 750 gallons.

Stocked pretty heavy, do you think I overdid it? 22 total fish. Think I need to remove some?

- Blue Tang
- Yellow Tang
- Rhomboid Wrasse
- Labout's Wrasse
- Lineatus Wrasse
- Dwarf Pintail Wrasse
- Exquisite Wrasse
- Christmas Wrasse
- Cleaner Wrasse
- Blotchy Anthias
- Sunburst Anthias
- 3x Lyretail Anthias
- Purple Firefish
- Firefish
- Diamond Goby
- Yellow Watchman Goby
- 2x Ocellaris Clownfish
- Midas Blenny
- Flame Hawk

I think it's fine... I have most of those wrasses in a 150.. the lineatus gets bossy when it's bigger. Cleaner wrasse is hard to keep alive without big fish around

your firefish may kill each other.. may not.. hopefully they find their own spots further away from each other.

your skimmer is huge! I've had issues before where my skimmer was too oversized and effective, corals suffered from lack of nutrients

Thanks for the reassurance lol! My nutrients are actually high! I'm trying to lower them right now. Good thing about an oversized skimmer is you can overfeed which helps with the overstock and aggression. Everyone has been peaceful so far minus the bullying to newer adds which has never lasted more than 2 days. My cleaner wrasse is a pig and eats everything including algae. The Firefish stay separated most of the time, assuming they have territory established already. The smaller one won the prime territory actually. I actually wanted to add a Bartletts lol

I added a trio Bartletts anthias to my 150.. in 3 months, the trio got down to 1... then the 1 killed off all my queen anthias and the sunburst anthias...

maybe mine is just a dick.. so now I only keep the barlett.

High nutrient, invest in some Sera Siporax. 0 nitrate no matter how much I feed.. I'm at the point where I need to remove some Siporax or dose nitrate

Never heard of that. I'll look into it. I had Bartletts before but they died because they were all too timid and rarely came out.

The only problem in my tank atm is I think my Clowns unbonded. Inseparable for almost a year but now one is getting harassed by the other and chased nonstop. They're both around the same size now but the one getting chased is being submissive and never fighting back

I had a trio of bartletts as well, similar results. Mine took a lot longer than 3 months, but I'm down to one after the other two were bullied over and over by the male. For the most part, though, he's fine with the other fish.

I think the aggression happens when the male comes out. Mine were the most peaceful fish in the tank until I started noticing some pecking order. Once the male was established, he started going after the weakest one. the other 2 died with missing tail.. and it's 1 day peaceful 1 day dead.. not even a chance to catch them..

I can't guarantee all my other queen anthias and sunburst died from the Barlett.. but only the anthias died.. months after QT'd introduction..

peaceful with other fish. i see occasional snapping at the wrasse, but pretty random

Well damn maybe I'll skip the Bartletts lol. Maybe add a Pictilis instead. Or a Purple Queen. my Sunburst just finally stopped hiding all day for the past month. Wouldn't think a Bartletts would go after a Sunburst

I've kept two alive for over a year before, I don't think it's too hard. Sold them when they got too big for my tank. I think the key is

1) find a good seller.. I buy mine from a diver in Hawaii. He hand catches his fish and gets them eating before selling. let me know if you want his info!

2) over feed good frozen food and NLS pellet. I premix my own frozen food, but LRS food works just as well. I used to feed LRS frozen and NLS pellet 4-5 times a day and a big Nori sheet for the streamer. MI eats a lot but only a little at a time.. so lots and lots of feeding is required! I would leave NLS pellets on sandbed for him to clean later.

3) if you can, get live black worms. if you see a MI losing weight (this can happen over night), feed live black worms
