180g setup?

Hi, I'm upgrading from a 125 to a 180. I have mostly LPS and softies now but the upper rockwork of the 180 is going to be all SPS and the LPS is going to be on the sand in front. How should I place the Tunze streams. I was thinking of 2 6000s or 26100s, what do you think? Would 2 6100s placed on sides toward eachother produce enough flow for the SPS on top but not tear apart the LPS down lower? Thanks! Oh, and if I order them now would the backorder only be 4 weeks or so?

It will depend largely on the type of LPS, brains and skeleton hugging types are no problem but long flowing tentacled corals should either have a barrier of rock around them or you should use 2 6000's. Using 2 6100's you only usually run 1 at a time, with 2 6000's you would run them both.

Thank you Roger, mostly they are long tenteceled (sp?) like Euphyllia etc. I'm aiming at a higher flow near the top and a lower flow at the bottom. How can this be achieved. What is the flow spreads of the 6100 and the 6000? Also, when do you expect the 6100 to be in stock? I've seen it in stock in several places but those places don't have the controllers in stock. Also, 2 6100s being run on a multi controller would let you run one at a time, correct? Thanks for your time! :D

I would not wait or expect anything to become stock, place an order otherwise you may wait forever, especially on the controllers. It may happen but it may not. The flow spread of both Streams is 24" around so their will be no real low flow zone, the 6000 has a 4ft span and is less intense than the 6100 which has a 7ft span. If you are trying to target areas for higher flow the 7400/2 might be better, in fact you might consider having a 7400/2 and a 6000, the 6000 will give you a broad gentle flow area on one end of the tank and the 7400/2 will give a more focused 6ft by 12" are of flow.
