LOL, T-BONED! ...LIKE NOW...Mark, I see someone on your thread addressing you as "PO". Filipino?

Italian. Last name Poletti. That is where Po came from in my college days.

Well most of our reef aquariums' inhabitants come from the Indo-Pacific which is closer to the Asian continent than Europe :)

and I was about to start calling you Old Man! :D PO is a term of respect for someone "older"

I have only been on this planet in this recincarnation for three decades, 3 years and 3 months.

Who's stalking who? :p

Did you make a decision about your flow?

with all the money spent on display and kitchen why go classifieds now :D

I think you just answered your own question! :D

What about a Rio Polario? I don't know why it's not available yet, but I hear it's going to be soon (finally). blog.marinedepot.com says it should be out within 90 days.

DTpetsupplies seems to be the only place that has the pricing.

5500gph version for $283 and it comes with a controller, magnet and moonlight. I am considering it too. Those guards come off both sides so the pump looks a lot smaller and less ugly.

Also, I'm not entirely sure why some places say the Polarios come in models up to 5500gph, and other say 10000gph..

Thanks for sharing, Dan. I've never heard of that until now. It looks like a cylinder, yeah? Do you know how broad the flow is on the Polario?

How reliable are the RIO pumps nowadays? I had one in the past, and it konked out pretty quickly.

Well, I just picked up a Tunze 6080 + magnet for $120. This will replace the 6060 I Just picked up. I figured, why not. For 20 bucks more, I get another 665gph.

The 6080 should tie me over til I find one more controllable powerhead.

Rio's are garbage. Why don;y you leave the 6060 in there as well. 665 gph is what 4.5 times turnover gain. whoopee!

Get a vortech and stop messing around ;)

4.5x turnover, LOL! I'll prob leave the 6060 in there as well until I find a new controllable Tunze ;) I'm a Tunze guy :)

I am a tunze and vortech guy. I wish that tunze would creat something that was comparible in size, then I would be a staright tunze guy. They make such a better product, buy I had to take my streams out of my tank as they took up so much space in the front corners.

OT: (t-boned) I am a one product line kind of guy. I have only worn adidas since I was 10 years old. It must of been all those days of soccer and listening to the B-Boys. I once bought a pair of Nike and ended up throwing them away as it was anti-religious and I could not leave the house in them.

I really like the footprint of the Vortechs. However, not as much flow as the Tunze 6201 and I read too many stories of that magnet falling. I would get annoyed having to reattach the magnet all the time. I've also read that the Vortechs are louder than the Tunzes? I also like that Tunzes can swivel.

Other than Tunzes being ugly, I like them functionally more than Vortechs :)

...I think Sang will chime in here shortly with a "Vortech > Tunze" post :D

Adidas, yeah? I used to jock them Stan Smiths with fat laces back in da days! haha :D Did you ever wear the black, suede Pumas with fat laces?? :)

Even though Puma and adidas were brothers, I never wore them. I was gazelle guy. I still have a couple pairs that I wear.

I have been down that debate before. I think one on each end is a great foundation. You add a couple of other "swivelable" points of flow and now we're talking :D
