I'll start the thread when I have something to show first! A big tank in the crate would be boring!

Trust me, we can find something very interesting with a big tank in a box :D

I heard this from a friend... but don't girls have cooties?
:D

That actually depends on how old your friend was!

Here's a sneak peak at the upcoming project:

Is James making that tank? Looks very nice.

Thanks! Yes, James built the tank. It arrived in early Feb and it's still fully crated in the garage ... no mermaid shots yet!

It has a closed loop and 3 Surges in the back ... should be a fun build!

James is building Me a tank right now

Sara you going to put your Sweet Onyx in there?

3 surges should be sweet

No, the Onyx Clowns will remain in my 92 corner tank. I thought about placing another pair in the new tank, but I don't want to deal with Anemone issues in this tank with it wondering around and stinging the corals.

Yes, Rod is excited about my surges! He's building the 3 tanks for me now.

sara you don't need a nem get them a nice frogspawn :) heck mine host any LPS they encounter, and they host clams.

could you really have a tank without a pair of Rods? haha

Sara B that's a beautiful tank. wish i had did external overflow to give me more real estates. a glance of mermaid shot would be nice :D. heck you can even start your thread here. tbone don't mind another thread, besides he has aleast 3 already here  :D

tbone- We transfered the livestock last week, it's up and running right now in a temporary state. I hope to have time to finish the plumbing this weekend.

Sarah- that's a big tank!

I was excited to be able to have external overflows for more room in the display. I have a 10x21 foot fishroom that the overflows are going to punch through the wall to.

The tank is 90 long by 30 wide by 26 tall. That's the exact size that can fit down my curved basement staircase! It took 3 cuts with a 2x4 mock-up to get to that size. I started with 8 feet long and 36 wide!

You sound like me. I mock up everything, from furniture to TV's to fish equipment. I used to just put blue tape, and have progressed to 3D mockups  I'm a geek

That is good :D something keep you busy. My tank will be done next Wed and the final dimension is 8x4x2 instead of 30" cuz i don't want to drown in the tank some day :D

them shorty asians! my tanks is 24", too. Ahem :D

Yeah, I have all these projects at work, but they have me attending all these meetings during the day, so I have to come back to work at night to acutally finish the projects!

At least I can kill time during conference calls on RC :)

My 150g was 30" and it was really hard to work on the bottom without any tools... esp annoying was when frags/nori clips/snails would fall into a cave (I had one clip in there for 1.5 years haha). Part of the problem was because I had so much rock and a center brace that made it hard to work in even with 34" Aqua Tongs.

I like being able to reach the bottom of my new one :) But at the same time I wish I had 30 because of sand moving around (which is less of a problem now with heavier media).

Steve, that's going to be a nice tank... are you still going to go with 4 6301s?
