Steve, are you going to build a false wall to hide all your Tunze streams and waveboxes? I know you're following Bricky's ELOS thread, and he has some amazing ideas!

I understand the difference between the 2 pumps. The Eheim on my ER is much smaller, so flow through the skimmer body is slower, thus leading to a longer contact time.

Regarding the height difference:

ER injects water into the skimmer about 4" from the bottom?
BK injects from almost the bottom?

So if you think about it, the effective height on the ER is not 30". It's more like 26". Is that logic correct?

I think contact time should only include when the bubbles start and where the water line begins in the skimmer reaction body. Otherwise, it's just the foam head.

I could be wrong, but it just made sense in my head that way.

I should be happy with 32k turnover

So what is the final verdict on the size of your new tank? I'm surprised Mr. Flow is happy with 32x!!! I'd think you'd shoot for 75x and up ;)

That makes sense too!

why not just buy a nice 40 horsepower 4 stoke outboard engine and mount it on the tank talk about Flowalicios

Wife would not be happy if I ask her to remove the fridge to mount... :D

Terry, no false wall for me. I will have the tunze at 4 corners mounted via wavysea holder hard plumb into the euro brace. I like Matt's (Bricky) idea on the stand and canopy cuz i plan to do the same with mine.

Bricky's Elos has no water in it and it should be TOTM anyway. that light hood with the pneumatic lift and the false wall are such great features.

Terry, it is 32000gph on an 7x4x32 tank 550g plus my return pump should produce 2200gph. It is more like 61x turn over rate. But i may add more in the future after my corals grow into colony.

no waveboxes for you? I like the wavysea idea

I am not using the wavysea unit, just the tunze holder part. I will have 4 ext waveboxes as well. I didn't calculate the flow of the wavebox.

Steve, looks like you've still got the OK for the huge tank! For some reason, I thought you couldn't go bigger than 400g! Is the 32,000 gph when all 6301s are running 100%?

I'm adding more flow even though I have 6201's because I realized that my net flow is much lower than it would be if I ran both 6201s at 100% all the time. Don't you pulse your Tunzes? Mine pulse from 30-100%, while the other one idles at 30%.

So the 6301s in the holders won't be rotating?

Of course i do pulse them :D. I will have my pumps set on interval II, 30%-100%.

I just use the holder. The wavysea itself won't be able to handle the 6301 flow. I can't even handle the 6201 :D
