I decided to go with the 300mg/gallon concentration only because I didn't know how many mg are in 1/5th teaspoon. I'm not a good estimator :p I also couldn't figure out how to get ppm.

Some of the SPS lightened a bit. Most had PE within 30 minutes after going back into the tank. I plan to re-dip every 25 days 4 more times.

T,

So are you pulling out everything and bathing them?

Hope all works out well and you kill those buggers, Then you can change your title:)

Thanks, Davey. Yeah, I pulled everything out.

Yesterday - dipped all Montis in Permoxyn
Today - pulled all SPS and bathed in Levamisole
Tomorrow - water change
Friday - Interceptor
Saturday - Coronas :D

Looks like you will have your hands full Saturday:D

DO you have cleaner shrimp/inverts or will you pull them out when you use Interceptor? heard they dont fare very well with this stuff:(

I have 3 cleaners and some hermits. I'll pull out the cleaners and as many hermits as I can find and put them in my QT.

Trying to plan this out. That's why I'm doing a water change tomorrow. That water's going into the QT for the inverts. New water then needs to be made up tomorrow so I have it ready for my Interceptor treatment friday.

I meant to say Saturday = Coronassssssssssssssss :D

yeah, a 20% change 6 hours after. I have a 50g brute for fresh saltwater. the 50g is just about 20% for me, so I"ll need a full brute by the time my interceptor treatment is done.

Yeah, caused a ton of work and stress.. Dipping sure seems easy now. I have learned

And as I found out, even that may not be enough. I dip religiously, but still managed to get AEFW's. I will have a full time QT running for anything that wants to get into my system from now on.

So Terry, How are the corals fairing 12 hours post dip? If your dip was too strong, you would know by now.

Mark - with the tank lights off this morning, it was hard to tell. But looking in, they don't look to be any worse than last night. I'm really curious now what concentration levamisole you use to dip. It seems yours is stronger (due to the yellow tint).

For reference, here is a pic of Denadi's bath. I followed his protocol. Is your water more tinted than this? Mine looked clear like his water.

The Interceptor bath should be 12 hours too. And any shrimp or crabs may be affected by those corals when placed back in the system. What I did was take the coral out of the medicated water, then put it in another volume of water for a couple of hours, then back into my tank. That rinse helped take out some of the risk factor.

I'd also be curious what to see what percentage concentration his levamisole is. I have heard that are differences the pills and powder. Also, he lives in Brazil.

Here's what I did with my levamasole bath:

Bath x2 hours with powerhead
clean plugs with a toothbrush
rinse in front of powerhead
rinse a clean bucket of saltwater
back to tank

Marc - for the interceptor, you recommend a bath? I plan to treat the whole tank.

I was talking to a local reefer who services tanks. He thinks the DD method works great, but he noticed that after the 6 hour treatment, that some inverts were still alive. He noticed that RB reappeared in 2 tanks that he servies. So he thought that perhaps some RB would still be alive. He spoke to a vet pathologist. they discussed the lifecycle of RB and the pathologist said contact time is what's important.

This reefer now treats the tank for 3 days (no skimmer), does a 20% water change, then does another 3 day treatment. He said that RB have not reappeared with this method.

I plan to give this a try. Thoughts from everyone?

So it sounds like he uses pills? What differences have you heard about the 2? All I did was reconstitute the bottle to the 500ml mark, as per the directions. IIRC, there is 18.xx grams per bottle. I figured out the concentration in that bottle, and I calculated that I needed 8.26 ml per gallon of water. I bathed in 5 gallons, so I needd 41.3 ml, but pulled out just 40 ml.

I've done interceptor treatments with no water change. I think leaving it in your tank for 12+ hrs is a good idea.
