Are those frilly edges easily seen by naked eye? Cuz I didn't see any. I did see a white pest though

Mark - is that a macro pic?

Mark - those are the flatworms that I see coming off my montis. So that's a pod? not a flatworm?

Mine came off of a chalice about 10 months ago. It was around 10pm and I flipped. Luckily I shot a picture to Marc and he assured me it was a useful pod.

When they get big enough, it is easier to spot them. I have seen them up to 1/2" in length. It was a frag swap. I was going around and inspecting the monti caps. I kept throwing corals away and people got all mad at me. I grabbed the bags and told them they could have them. Of course, I went on to show them why I was throwing them away.
Needless to say, they let me continue what I was doing ;)

BTW,That is the picture from the link I sent you last night.

Well, I hope they don't get big enough for me to *easily* ID them. Now that I've dipped my montis, do I need to do any more repeat dips?

The key is to keep an eye on them. Look in any crack, ridges or anything that might hide any eggs. I would not want to take any more risks. Anypart of the coral that you can not see, I'd cut it up and glue all around the edges.

A trick I learned is to keep them in a frag tray to make it easier to inspect them.

Here is a montipora with a hitchhiker nudibranch on the side.

That would be an adult one. Thread about them:

The rounded looking picture on page back is a Sand Skater, and a pod that you don't have to worry about.

Flatworms are thin like paper, two-dimensional creatures. They wrinkle up in various products like Flatworm eXit, ReVive, TMPCC.

Geeze, after reading the thread by the Polish guy on the sps forum, I want to tear down my tank.:( His tank is incredible. Too bad he never posted pics of the Polish girls.

That was a great link, Marc. I definitely didn't see that nudi. So either I don't have monti nudis or I have young ones that don't have the frillies yet? Regardless, I'm going to keep my eye on them.

That's just the way Elos makes their tanks. They sandwich 2-3 layers of glass with silicone beads in between. Supposed to make it really strong.

Sang, what happened to the bottom of your tank??

That is elos' sizemic bracing, otherwise known as a very high priced way of saying "scraps" :)

Is that ELOS' way of sayinig it will survive our next 7.8 quake? :D
I guess there's no option to go BB on an ELOS tank :p
