I have 2 schooling bannerfish (heniochus) for sale. These were qt'd for 3 months while I setup their new tank. I was told by the store that these came from a special place and they are reef safe... they are not. They like to nip at sps, acans, zoas, nems...who knows what else.

They are very active and healthy. Eats pellets and any frozen. $60 for the pair.

I think these are acuminatus which are non reef safe

I agree. School banner fish are not heniochious. The true heniochious come from hawaii and are reef safe.

LFS sold them as schooling bannerfish but also called them heniochus and now that you mention it, I remember them saying Hawaii. Any case, they are not reef safe.

Both the species are henichous. That's the genus. Acuminatus are not reef safe Diphreutes are reef safe.

They look like they have blunt noses to me...I sure thought that meant reef safe and made them schooling banners. With that in mind, I'll need to be very careful because I wan to get a couple of those guys myself.
