It has been about a month now, and finally feel up to posting this.
As some of you may remember a while back I received a Red Haddoni from the Diver's Den section of LA. In addition I had (( yes had )) a blue one from there that had been with me for 3+ years. Well, both of them are no longer with me.
While I don't know for a fact, I am pretty certain that it was because I tried some new salt -- the TM bio-active stuff. After talking to Randy (( the Chem guru )), it seems that that stuff is too much for stressed anemones. It is similar to vodka/sugar dosing. In hindsight I can now see the anemones reacting poorly to it, but at the time I didn't. IMO, the added bacteria was too much for them -- the red one because it was still new and the blue one because it never fully recovered from it spawning (( stress induced )) event a year ago.
Both of them started to disintegrate, and when I realized what was going on it was too late -- when back to my normal salt, TM Pro. I tried everything but they were too far gone.
My other 3 Haddonis, are doing great, but did show a little sign of stress when I was using that salt --- again only in hindsight.
So, RIP...
The pink skunk pair was upset for a few days, but now are in my green one -- which ticked off my porcelain crab.
And the good news to follow.
