2 blue gigs.

5K spots. You can really see what stronger light actually does to the color. 600 par on the left. 1600 par on the right.

This post is just a date marker. Nothing new to post, but had a "spawning event" this morning at 6am. Cloudy tank and upset skimmer, clear by noon. I know Minh says 48-60 hours until his malu released. I'll check in 48 hours and report if I see anything. Not expecting much. I don't know what the moon light percent was set at last night. I did feed them all a full scallop a day ago, which I normally don't feed so much.

Do you see any eggs in any of the females. Do you which are males and which are females?
Did you see the spawn of did you just see clown up water?

Now do you order these gigs online? Or get them at a local fish store?

I am not sure in Gigantea. In Malu, the fertilized eggs move about in the anemone, I can see it in there moving with it's own power (two eggs moved opposite direction right passed each other)

I wasn't and didn't look for eggs before hand. Do you think you can see them before? The "mop hair dew" tentacles are too long and move too much to see them beforehand I think. The cloudy water happened within 30 minutes of being in there. One trip in the office it was normal clear. 30 minutes later it was cloudy. Smells like other spawn events in the skimmer. I watched my mertens spawn. Smells the same. I didn't see it spawn, I don't know who the "man" is.

All LFS, except one Pete got from Live Aquaria, the little brown one came online. All others are LFS, and treated with cipro.

How would you tell the difference between eggs vs regular stomata?
I don't know.

I couldn't see them moving past each other, there is way too much current in there to see them moving inside.

This is the anemone I suspect is a female.

Probably a couple dozen of these peppered throughout.

Think these are too small to be mini's? I saw a tentacle with 2 at the tip earlier today. Now I can't find that tentacle. There's only a few of those little dots in the tents left, most of them are gone now. There's no way one of those things is going to take a hold with the amount of flow I'm using. I can watch floating junk go from my powerhead, to the center of the tank back to the power head in 5 seconds. I still think the guy that takes his overflows into a "settle out" tank with low flow, that's the guy that will find them and be able to grow them. Not me.

You wouldn't happen to be able to remove the Anemone into another tank to observe the release of eggs would you? Super exciting stuff

No, the rock is too built into what the scape is. It would be too disturbing to remove, and the anemone has a hole it's foot is in. Not removable without major disturbance, and that would throw the whole tank off balance.

Those look like eggs to me. Do they more around inside the tentacles?
Yes, they moved from where they were. I didn't spend time to study them. There was a tentacle that had a double in the tip earlier today, but came back and couldn't find either of them, so not sure what happened or where they went. It looked like there was a group of them around the mouth yesterday, but can't see in there right now. When the flow stops, it swells up and looks super puffy. I thought about snagging a tentacle with one in it and just ripping it off, but I don't have any food for it, a spot to raise it, or time. I don't raise baby clowns. Pete's out, and I don't have anyone close that's a gig-a-holic like me to send some off to. I'd almost like to just try it to get a good picture of one though. Maybe tomorrow I try one. Getting "just that one tent" would be a challenge though. They often have lightning fast closing response when touched.

Here are the fertilized eggs inside my Malu

Yours looks to have more eggs than what I was seeing, but I didn't have much time to study it, lots of family stuff going on lately.

The morning it happened, moon light level was around 20%.
This morning I think it was around 6%. Really dim.

I couldn't see anything in the others. That purple has the thickest tentacles, the rest are really thin right now.

I have moon light on my tank too. I think I will increase feeding. What temp do you keep your tank? How stable?

Most definitely! This is exciting stuff.
Thanks! I've already had my "exciting stuff" moments last time this went on, just had crappy pics to choose from. I'll try to get excited with you guys though. :) Last time, I tried to catch them as I found them and raise them, got a guppy net, tried a shot glass, a test tube, even transferring them to my cheato in the other tank. They melt after a few days.
