came home from vacation and found clams closed up not a ton of color.
the shells are slightly open, mouths are open. but the mantle isn't extended like normal.
My giant Squamosa is perfect looking the crocea clams are the ones suffering.

here are my parameters just taken right now.

temp 79
salinity 34ppt
ph 8.0
calcium 410
nitrate between 5.0 and 10.0 ( typical )
ammonia looks to be .25 never had ammonia problem before.
phosphate .25 typically hovers .25 to .5
nitrite 0

could that little fluctuation in ammonia really only effect two clams out of all the coral?
even the acro has polyp extension.

Phil Pee'd in your tank while you were gone. :(

I hope you can figure this out. Maybe you have a fish that has recently discovered he likes clams.

Just a thought, check for stray voltage. I've heard of clams trippin out with voltage leaks.

Well today my wife saw the POS bi color angel nipping at them today. don't know if that is because they are on their way out. or if he is the cause.

Everything else is extending their polyps like normal.

To the sump!

Yeah right, that sob is a PIA to catch. wont go near any traps. and I do not have time nor storage space to remove rock, and water.

I've got a potters angel in with my maxima and 2 crocea's. He has been fine so far, but I love my clams. If I saw him going after them, he'd be gone!

Two little ones are gone.

Big Squamosa is doing fantastic. so who knows what happened.

weird, I'll buy more after we move and I get the Angel out.

I had the same issue with a crocea and a squamosa. They stopped opening or would partially open for short periods and then close up when the main lights came on. I thought it was PMD but a few months back I overdosed PO3 NO4 which rapidly reduced nutrients in my tank while bringing my nitrates from 40 to less than 5 in less then a week. Clams are sensitive to rapid changing water parameters which I think killed mine. My crocea died first then about two weeks later the squamosa. The ammonia in your tank could have been enough to stress them and cause them to close up.
