2000g System overview

Well, I nearly lost mine when it wouldn't eat, and it turned brownish with a bit of bleaching and shrunk to about half its original size. It was tough dealing with and when I started feeding it shrimp, it plumped right back up. Then it moved to a spot in the front of the tank and hung out for a couple months. Then it got caught on a Vortech that I had lowered, and when I peeled it off it went into hiding for about a month. I recently added a friend's sebae clown and the PLTA has moved to the other side of the tank to pal up with it. So we'll see how it goes.

Steve Weast, who was my original inspiration for getting one, got rid of his. They are tough to deal with when they cruise around the tank tasting everything!

I put both of them on the end of my tank so they cant move( shouldn't). the way my flow is set up the bottom moves left and the top moves right in the direction of the overflow. Guess we'll see what happens. Only time will tell.

Joe...Jeff....same difference.....I swear...that will be my downfall one day. I am so bad with names....and with everything going one right now my mind is a blur. In any case JOE....lol....did the guys from Coral Reef Farm do your plumbing or did you do it yourself. I would gladly make some jerk chicken once I get to that point and have you, chris, roger and a few other member come over and help with plumbing everything.

I love your tank and want to take my next build slow.

Anyway keep the pictures flowing. Also do you have a recent pic of the plumbing and cistern?

I was wondering how often you perform water changes on nearly 2k in water volume? I like the bluethroat trigger addition and the schooling anthias/chromis, very beautiful!

I do a water change every 4 weeks with NSW . I have a guy that comes to my house with a 5000/g tanker and I have a hose going from my sump to outside and drain my water and he a hose from his truck to refill it. It takes all of 5 mins. Ty for the kind words

down here there are guys who go out at high tide and bring the water to you. I pay $50 for 250/g or $100 for 1000/g . If you think about it you can't buy salt and make RO/DI water for that price let alone that the time and energy that it takes to make it. ( and containers)

if you think about it the water is free for him it just cost gas from the ocean to my house which is a couple of miles. So what are we talking $5 in gas to make $100 and I do it almost every month.

I friggin wish I had that lol. I live on the water here in NY but I would never trust the water quality here. I feel my water quality blows away the water here

speak to paul b in long island hes been doing all his water changes from the sound for 30 years. If for 30 years its been good for paul its good enough for me.

I have been following your tank for months, but don't think I have ever chimed in. Great tank, I have very much so enjoyed to see its progress since you started this thread (I think I started when it was on page 8 or something!). Do you plan on putting in a canopy of some kind over the tank, or just to leave it open? Seems to be great colors with your new lights! Keep up the outstanding work.

well i must say that the tank is looking exceptional. i like the added fish tothe tank. it gives it more color. the corals seem to be growing like weeds.
how has your temps been doing during the hot season? do you still plan to install the cystern?
