2010's official OT URS bowhunting thread

Nothing all afternoon and evening. Right at sundown had 5 does at 45 yds thru cover with no responsible shot and no way to get out of my stand without spooking my spot. Guy I was with had the same problem. Had a does dead to rights at about 10 yards but couldn't see his pins it was so dark.

I hate that. I usually try to wait them out until they leave so they don't see me in my spot. Anything more than half an hour is too much though.

I'm torn as to take one of these does, or if I should wait until the rut kicks in and look for a nice bruiser. I've heard, to get the big boys, hunt the does.

Realistically I just want some venison, but.......a big boy for the wall would be especially nice too.......decisions decisions......

I look at it as if I can shoot a doe early in the season, I can then focus on baggin a nice buck since i know I have venison in the freezer.

had 5 does and a fawn yesterday about 4:45 until 5:30 eating soybeans to my left through cover. staying home today as I'm sick as a dog. funny how I could have a small coughing fit in my ladder stand and they didn't even notice.

0 for 3. Didn't see a thing this am, unless you count the turkeys at 60 yards...believe me, I was contemplating a shot. Cold and wet this am.

No action on my mock scrape. No rubs except for one teeny one right behind my stand, not new. Not sure what's going on. My stand is definitely an evening stand. Gonna let it chill for a few days. Head out next week some evening.

Anyone else having any luck?

had another hunter walk by me at 9am sunday then a little after 10am then about noon came up to me all embarrassed and said that was lost and could not find the road in the state land in east otto and that's why he kept passing me.I brought him down and called it a day
