215g Caribbean Inspired Reef

I wish I was a better photographer. Here are a few from today:
Since the LEDs helped with the cyano so much I can now take pics of the sandbed again. lol

got some pretty new algae:

sargassum:

I wonder why we don't see sargassum more often in display tanks. I find it to be quite attractive...

plain old halimeda ;):

I am still doing the Fauna Marin foods round the clock 8 hours a day so the gorgos are nice and open all the time

totally not Caribbean. I got this beautiful thing from a friend though and couldn't part with it.

Anemone shrimp on his rics:

just the usual jawfish:

My anemone finally moved out enough to be more visible. Kind of nice for a rock flower anemone to have all these stripes I think:

one of my favorite things: spiny oysters with all kind of stuff growing on them:

and of course my totally un-Caribbean Anthias!

the tank is getting better and better...i believe it will be quite a inspiration tank in coming times...

Everything is going great!
Taking the pellets off-line has really been the best decision I've made.

I've started dosing iron to boost the macro algae.

All 6 jawfish are still going strong. They still lay eggs and mouthbrood but I haven't been able to collect the fry.

Tank looks great! The growth is incredible! Always nice to see more shots.

I'm i the process of setting up a 50g tank for gulf of mexico/carribean species. Your tank has become my inspiration. Truly a unique tank.

I've been chasing after a Swiftia gorgonian for months now and I finally got one -two actually.
The polyps are fairly large so I am hoping it will do well with daily additions of live baby brine.
Here's a pic:

One of the Swiftia gorgos came with a nice bonus:

Sea rod Basket Stars. I initially took them off the gorgo to verify they were harmless filter feeders and they are now back on their host gorgonian.
I have even been target feeding them already.
They are small and don't get nearly as big as regular basket stars but what a wonderful hitchhiker!

got my Caribbean Stony Corals from Tampa Bay Saltwater!

here is one of them straight out of the box:

and here it is opening up with bright green centers:

Not sure about the hitchhikers on these so I've taken everything off and quarantining the corals with deeper crevices (for stuff to hide in) right now

I really like the shadow box. After seeing how your tank turned out i think i will have to modify my install if possible.
