230 Ohio reef tank

Well I finally did it. I switched to MAC. (iPhone 5). (Thanks Wayne you talked me into it :)). I have to admit, i phone the camera takes much better pictures than my Droid did and captures the colors a little better. Still doesn't quite show the blues in my corals like I see them in person but the phone is great. Just wanted to play with the camera and share some of the latest

Thanks. Im using an AIM 1500 watt inverter with charger and transfer switch.

Here's a photo of the inverter. Forgot to add.

Had a great weekend. Went to the Midwestern Corals Farmers Market and picked a few small corals up from Jason Fox. Can't wait to see them grow out. Also took my bio pellet reactor offline. I think it was taking to much out of the water and will have to see if I have any changes in the coral colors. All is going well and Here's a shot today from the top.

You are welcome sir. So when is the big retirement day? I am glad I found reefing after I retired. Well 3 years later after I retired. It truly changed my life.

lots of nice looking corals!!

For you phone you will want Pro Camera app, it makes the pictures even better :)

Eric,
Thanks again for the tip. You weren't kidding, that App makes a big difference. Here's a few shots. Also a shot of one of my favorite frags (Pink polyps with blue skeleton table encrusting acro) in the second photo. If anyone knows what it's name is, I would love to know.

Retirement should be around sometime in Aug-Sept. Will be 21 years military service. Glad I the chance to serve and move my tank so many times. Learned a lot over the years starting over every 3-4 years. first saltwater tank was in 1991. Also helped me through one of my toughest deployments. I planed this tank as one of my welcome home presents. :)

Interesting experiment today. About a week and a half ago I decided to remove my Bio Pellet reactor and GFO. Thought the pellets were taking to much out. Previously phosphates were undetectable with a Hanna checker. I tested today after I did my weekly water change yesterday (35 gallons) and Hanna was reading at .08.

I decided to add my GFO back today and will have to check again tomorrow and see how much it goes back down and if there are any differences in the coral colors. oddly enough, I didn't see any significant increase in algae or change in my SPS colors.
