2300G Cylinder - Preview

That's one expensive pump if i say so. great build. Don't know how much they go for in Australia.

The Hydro Wizard with all it’s bells and whistles will set you (or more likely your local public aquarium) back 3600 Euros, or about $4800 before shipping. But fear not ye home aquarium reefers and reefettes because the Hydro Wizard exists in a smaller, more manageable version, the Hydro Wizard Medium. The Hydro Wizard Medium will push 12,000 gph while only consuming 90 watts, and it will become available in the fall for around $700-800.

On the Hydro Wizards, are the screws in the pump titanium too?

Yes. The only wetted metal in the hydro wizards are the titanium screws that hold the motor to the carbon fiber casing.

Also, I guess I could look this up, but what's the motor/propeller coupling in the pump? Is it magnetic or mechanical seal?

Not magnetic... I think it is a couple of sets of Silicon Carbide bearings.

that thing looks bigger and bigger ever time i see it!
Not something I'm used to hearing!

Next to the tank and skimmer, the hydrowizards are the most expensive items. As far as I am aware, Hydrowizards are only available from the manufacturer, Panta Rhei, in Germany. I should add that the unit came with an Australian plug out of the box... excellent attention to detail.

The aquarium surrounding facade is almost done. It will be varnished tomorrow.

Did you consider using skylights/solartubes for lighting with supplementary artificial lighting for evenings?

This is a 1 1/2" PVC line that goes from the salt water holding tank to right near the road. This will allow my NSW delivery guy to pump water to my tank without having to back the trailer up the drive:

This is the most important insurance a boy can get. Natural gas backup generator... can power the aquarium and whole house:

It's great to see everything coming together for you at last. Such a long wait. Clearly it will all be worth it. Congrats!

Now let's see that bad boy get wet!

simply brilliant, can deffinitely see that you are really into the details. You should have gone on Grand Designs Australia.

wow nice... love the tile job though, wanted to do something similar like that with my bathroom but at more than $10 per sq.ft no way I could pull that trigger.
