24/7 lighting for seagrasses

I recently purchased some turtle grass and manatee grass, and I was wondering if they would do okay under 24/7 lighting under one of those 65-watt LOA lights. They are sitting in a sugar fine substrate with 2 years worth of sump/refugium sediment.

I'm pretty sure that true plants, like turtle and manatee grass, need periods of dark for some of their growth functions. I wouldn't leave them in 24/7 lighting. Someone else may come along with more information.
