24 gallon nano cube build

Everyone likes pics, so here's some of my new nano cube 24 build. Intank media basket and Tunze 9001 skimmer should arrive today. About 25lbs of cured live rock, 20lbs of sand, 15 gallons of water from my established 90 and about 5 gallons of fresh mixed saltwater. So I'm hoping for a quick cycle.

Ya 2 tanks, we'll see how it goes. Only started the second tank because I finally found my clown that was MIA for several months (he was in the overflow). Sense I already put another maroon in my 90 I couldn't stick him back in the there. He was are first fish so the wife wouldn't get rid of him. That was a green light to start a new tank and spend a little doe.

I was hoping not to cycle at all, since I'm using cured live rock and water from my other tank; but I was told that the live sand would cause a cycle.

After the first 24, all tests are exactly like my 90. So I'll test for a few days and if all looks good I'll move nemo out of my sump & into the nano cube.

Thinking about making my 90 a FOWLR because I don't have much coral in it now, and I'm wanting to keep a puffer.

Not positive, but for sure my clown, which I will try to pair, then maybe a pistol shrimp/goby pair, and a purple fire fish. Possibly a mandarin down the road. Coral will be mostly LPS and softies.

Just ordered a hydor koralia nano 425, for some added flow. All tests still look fine no nitrite or ammonia spike yet. Feather dusters are out on the live rock and a few tiny baby snails made the trip from my 90 and are out on the glass. Will probably move a few snails and hermit crabs over today to see how they do.

how small? I've seen photos using a large vase or cookie jar or things like that, but don't think I've ever seen one with a circulation pump in it.

I'm finding 12" glass cylinders that may work with a center overflow and that powerhead for sps. Mostly research atm though til I get this 3 tier up. Boss says one tank at a time lol. Anyhow I'll stop jacking your thread man.

No worries...

Got the Hydor nano pump yesterday, first Koralia pump I've used; and have to say, I like this little pump so far. I was surprised how small it is in person. The power head itself is not much bigger than a golf ball, it's dead silent, and practically disappears against the black background (I mounted it on the back wall). Seems to have a nice gentle flow, but hard to judge how well it moves the water until I stock the tank.

Did you consider the Jebao wp10? Its a little bigger but still cheap and you get waves. I have 2 25`s in my 40g and that sucker rocks.

Never saw a cycle, all tests still good. Nemo's out of the sump and has a buddy. Also added the purple firefish, a porcelain crab, 4 hermits, couple of snails, and a zoa frag.

Probably add one (maybe 2) more fish, and a shrimp, but not sure which ones. Any suggestions?
