240g lee mar in-wall commences!

Whats next on the list ??

Just gonna let it cycle as I accumulate some more equipment.

For now I'll let the existing powerheads circulate the water until I have a need for the vortechs. I'm also on the hunt for a CA reactor and controller, the rest of my phoenix 14k bulbs should be here by Friday until then I'll work on the stock list.

Love the build. I wish I could do an in wall, just waiting for the kids to move off to college.

Keep up the great work

Thanks for the kind words!
At least you have time to plan it through so when the time comes you will be very well prepared:)

Thats a well planned out setup.......Nicely done.
If I did that here in PA, everything would be frozen in the winter time...lol

So is the tank just cycling for awhile?

If so, are you cycling in the dark?

what are your plans as far as livestock?

I've been thinking about a school of Anthias (Bartlett) and Chromis, Powder Brown Tang, a couple Yellow Tangs, Naso or Desjardini Tang, Melanurus Wrasse, Diamond Goby, Purple Firefish and a clean up crew consisting of Peppermint shrimp, Cleaner shrimp, Nassarius Snails, Nerite Snails and Blue Legged Hermits. I have a few other subjects in mind so this is by no means the final list. Any suggestions are welcomed:D

Yes my friend it is indeed cycling, Ammonia is currently at 1ppm testing every other day, and I turn on two of the four MH for about 3hrs a night to keep the coralline on the live rock somewhat happy. The emerald crab that I found in the bottom of the box with the live rock has been spotted several times in the last week but I have not seen him for a couple days now, I hope he makes it!

Did a few things over the past couple weekends:

Installed float switches on both reservoirs along with the auto shut-off kit for the ro/di.

I replaced the crappy Genx pump that pumped water from one container to the salt mixing container with a more suitable external pump

I rigged up an easy way to remove water from both the skimmer and return chamber that worked great on its test run

It connects to this pvc pipe

New member of the family!

New member of the family!

Also after just 17days ammonia is down to 0ppm! I see copapods on the rock and substrate and tiny inverts on the glass daily now...getting tempted but will let it go another couple weeks. I've also been able to maintain most of the coralline algae with just 3 hrs of light with two pendants alternating between pairs, so things are coming along nicely.

I also could not go without mentioning we have a new addition to the family...meet our 12 week old Yorkie - Lil Dude:)
