240g lee mar in-wall commences!

good job on the build! very nice!

couple of questions

knowing you're in AZ, what's the coldest it gets at night and does it affect the temperature in the garage at all?

It gets to around 40 at night on average so on colder nights I close the doors to the tank and the heaters in the sump keep it to 78degrees. However when I start running my full photo period of 8hrs of halides at night (since electricity is cheaper) I won't need heaters at all.

The garage itself has only gotten down to 76 overnight so far. I'm sure it will get much cooler but the tank room is never drastically affected by temps in the garage whether it be heat or cold.

thats not bad at all... i recall that when i visited az in august it was about 80 degrees during the day and felt like 30 at night... def took me by surprise and im from chicago so i know COLD lol

Oh cool...Where in AZ did you visit? Those temps had to had been up in the northern part of the state.

i was in flagstaff so it wasnt that far north... i might be exaggerating but the difference was so weird to me that it threw me off..

tank looks great again i'm gonna start a cool little mission where i'm gonna go to as many reefers and taking a picture with the owners and their tanks... i live in illinois so i'm gonna start here but as much traveling as i love doing, i think it'd be a great idea

Actually it's pretty far north in comparison to where we live, about 3hrs away and possible a few thousand feet higher than sea level. Just so you have an idea, right now it is snowing up there in Flagstaff but at our house it's about 78 outside. It is really strange having the ability to enjoy snow and mild winter at the same time, the elevation makes a huge difference.

I look forward to your next trip out this way, you'll have to drop in and take my photo:lol:

i will actually be there at the end of november. u have an extra bedroom? lol

if i fly out then i dont mind driving several hours but if i drive out there i'll most likely stay in that area

There's a hotel and casino 4 miles from the house, and another 15 miles away! Then you could always drive up to Flagstaff to go snowboarding or skiing. As you can see there's enough to get you in trouble:lol:

Looking good!

Looking good!

The tank is looking good - I like the aquascaping...

So what's next on the schedule?

Hey shane. Lovin those Allen damsels. I see you got some good growth off those RPE polyps.

The Apex controller is next on the list in addition to some sort of QT setup, I'm also performing the first water change this evening....man it is just too easy! Tank parameters:
Temp 79.8 degrees
PH 8.2
SG 1.025
Alk 9
CA 420ppm
MG 1320ppm
PO4 0ppm
N03 10ppm
NH3 .5ppm

I still need to test my fresh salt mix.

Thank you for the comments and for following the build;)
Your build is great! Love your attention to detail.....can't wait to see corals and more fish!

Thank you very much...I am hoping to start stocking with coral and all of the fish after the first of the year.

Aren't the colors on those guys sweet? The RPE is doing quite well I'm trying to decide if I will eventually transfer them to the big tank. I will be hitting you up in the next couple months for a ton of frags so get busy:D
