240g lee mar in-wall commences!

I pretty much like everything you have done on this build. I like all the space you have under the stand and the highth of the tank is nice, no bending over to see whats in this tank. The down side is going to be when you want to get your hands in the tank. I am having a problem figuring out one thing though (this happens to me alot, lol) With the big doors that you have giving you access to the back of the tank, why build the door and entrance off to the right side of the tank?

Thank you for the compliments!
I wanted plenty of room beneath the tank and I knew that would be a given due to the height I was going to build the stand(45"). Viewing is going to be at eye level on the inside, and bar-stools in front of the tank will make it even more convenient!:) The entrance off to the right is so I can get my water storage and top off containers in and out easily for cleaning and so forth because there's no room to squeeze them through from that side. This also gives me some extra storage space, as well as allow me to work on one side of the tank without opening the big doors...;)

It looks really nice with paint off now! Keep up the good work.

Nice to see you made it over Frank!
You should come over after work today and help me paint them, so I can silicone the baffles for the sump and get my plumbing done:D Which isn't much btw.

Update

Update

Last night macboat came by and assisted me with painting the doors. We gave the outside 2 solid coats and plan on 3 solid coats on the inside today. I also got the 90g that will be used as the sump all cleaned out and ready to put the baffles in but the suckers were a hair to long:confused: so I'll get those ground down and silicone them in tonight. We also took stock of all the plumbing fittings I had and it looks like I only need a tee and a couple threaded/slip pieces I should have everything else:)

We cut the PVC for my standpipe capped with a Maggie Muffler for the drain to size and test fitted it and should work out great.

I cut the PVC about 2 1/2" below the teeth in the overflow and with the Maggie Muffler it is about 1/4 above the bottom of the teeth. Does that sound right?:o

I suppose I should follow the thread, too, since I helped do some of the work! LOL!

When does that last bit of drywall get cut? Are you going to have a ceremony?

I think crashing a bottle of champagne against the drywall might be messy, but would be a worthy addition for the "after" party.

C'mon, lets get 'er done! :hammer:
