25 Reasons why your polyps won't expand.

I still am trying to think up more to add to your list, but you've done a great job covering them all.

Mucho,

When you say a large Emerald, how large are we talking about? I have two and one of them has a carpace of about 1 inch. I also have 2 Red Mithrax.

Could you elaborate on Sally Lightfoot crabs. I was thinking about adding two of those as well. Wonderful btw

Thanks

For what it's worth---and you have listed params---I would say ph and alkalinity matter. The one s/b 7.9 to 8.3, and alk at 8.3-9.3. It's been 10 years since I had a softie tank, but I had a good growth of the zoa species, and have it in my own head that I had notable troubles if my alk wandered: one of the first things to close would be the zoas. Of course, the fact that these colonies were in there with leathers could mean the leathers got ticked off by low alk and started spitting chemicals as they are wont to do, but I offer it as something to adjust to a better reading if you find it's 'off' in your tank.

>????< what actually would eat the worms? I am running into this problem, I noticed a drop in Zoa count, but can't quite point the finger.

i have some that aren't opening up and i think it mgiht b because of #8 or 13 or because of fungus. If it is bc of shipping and being shocked from the temperature of light how can u fix that? and will they eventually open up?

Lucky for me I found this... that beautiful new snail that came on my zoo's is a sundial snail. He is soon to be in the trash. Well done post.

same problem, zoo colony cut in half in 1 week, removed a snail that seemed to be a sundial. but 4 days afetr removing him, 7 more polyps disappeared leaving only 10 polyps now :(
