25 Reasons why your polyps won't expand.

What about when they suddenly turn pale? My green center polyps went from a healthy honey brown color to very pale tan overnight! Centers are still bright green an they still open. My other zoa colony in this tank still looks great.

#27 Putting them in Melev's Reef. :D
Hey! I have some happy zoas in my tank. Not as many as in the past, due to better water quality I'm sure. But still, they seem like happy 'survivors'. ;)

Awe Mel has a nice reef.

"Alaska_Phil What about when they suddenly turn pale? My green center polyps went from a healthy honey brown color to very pale tan overnight! Centers are still bright green an they still open. My other zoa colony in this tank still looks great."

I'd group this with # 12, light shock

"Aj Flip hermit crabs keep walking on them"

# 4 would apply here. "An invert doing the same. ( I've experienced this"

"Aj Flip gluing the wrong side of the polyp to a frag disc "

Lets call that, external mishap.

Mucho Reef

Mucho Reef, I think you're right. They went pale just about the time I started getting direct sunlight hitting them this spring. I've since shielded them from the direct sunlight and they're slowly recovering their color.

How about this one... I've experienced it!

Biting Blue or Yellow or Purple Tangs! I've had them nibble/rip them to shreds on my Zoos and slowly, but surely killing them!

Yep, Tucker was a zoa-killa. Eventually he had to be trapped and removed.

Ever wished you could catch a fish in your tank? Watch this vidcast of how we caught Tucker in the Tucker Trapper II. :) It took so long to edit... It is shot in real time; no editing tricks were implemented. You'll have to endure it like we did, all 94 megs worth. ;)

3. A fish that is nipping at them, there are several well documented cases of this. ( I've experienced this )

LMAO
Great video.
I love the "Aww" when he almost..gets inside.

And the comment he makes as he's flying towards his new owner. *snort*

That's a great trap.
