250w Bulbs

I have 2 new SE 14k 250w bulbs out of the box. They wont fire on my ballast. Does anyone have a 250w local to see if its the ballast or bulbs?

I know DE bulbs have problems with not firing but I never heard of SE bulbs doing it....I think the bulbs may not be compatible with probe start??

I need to know if they work on other ballasts, that way I can trade them for some.

Hey Sam, my 175watters looked kinda dark durring a water test I did. Thinking about going to 250Watters too. HQIs though.

Hey Gonzalo the 175w'ers are cool, but my tank is too tall and my clams are a little shabby.

Plus I want to be able to place my SPS a little lower especiall caps because of their shading.

The 250w's are insane I just barely connected them and I have an old REEFGROW 250w bulbs and my corals are looking much better!

Though they are too yellow for my taste I think that has alot to do with why my corals are looking good.
