Sweet build. Any updates?
This stuff is not really all that new. It was suggested several years ago but not very well explained.
Do you understand what a gyre is? It is a circular motion of the water flow all the way round the tank. This can be parallel to the sides, i.e. the water moves left to right along the front pane and right to left along the back pane. Or it could be a bottom to top flow that pushes up the front pane and down the back pane.
These are just examples to get you thinking. What you don't want is an area of dead water in the centre of the tank, so you need to break it up a bit. People usually add some random movement to keep from just having a laminar current moving around the tank in a straight line. You can also put your Ocean Motions on a timed controller so that you reverse the gyre every six hours like the tides.

Why wouldn't you connect the first Ocean Motion to the first and third bottom nozzle in the front and back, and the second Ocean to the second and fourth bottom nozzle in the front and back.
Aim the first and third bottom nozzle in the front to go from left to right and in the back to go from left to right. Aim the second and fourth bottom nozzle to go from right to left and the back bottom second and fourth nozzle to go from right to left.
Then you could alternate between one Ocean Motion running for a while and then the second Ocean Motion running for a while. Make sure you have penductors on all your bottom nozzles to get the most flow out of each.

where are your drain lines for your closed loop?
That's the set-up I was trying to describe. Obviously I failed. Use one Ocean Motion to circulate in one direction, then use your controller to switch to the second Ocean Motion to circulate in the opposite direction.kewadiak said:i guess i was thinking i needed a circler motion of flow like if you were making a whirlpool one way then reversing the whirlpool
