Ed,
your tank is just beautiful, your FTS are just beautiful, the coral placement with the pegs is a great idea!, this something we are going to do in the new build. The crabs and starfish like to knock things over.
Again your coral selection and placement are just BEAUTIFUL!
keep up the great work!

So do they send you a new 5 led Module? or individual leds..

Hi Ryan, I think they are sending the 5 led module as you can't change individual Led

Thanks ret25yo - 2 days huh?? must be some heavy reading...hehehe :D ATI powermodules are great lights IMO. Did you get the 6, 8 or 10 tubes combination??

SOME QUICK UPDATES.....

SOME QUICK UPDATES.....

Now that there is less corals in my current, last night after work, I spotted one of my Blue-leg Hermit taking a stroll right in front of me so naturally I pick him up and move him over to my new tank. Have not seen his elder brother thou’

As I’m planning to move all my corals over this weekend, tonight I move my Green Tuxedo Urchin into the new tank to compete with my Turbos… :D

CORAL TRANSFER TO NEW HOME ….…

CORAL TRANSFER TO NEW HOME ….…

What a busy day today…..!!

Did a 10% WC and tested my parameters and results as below:
➢ Temperature â€"œ 27.4 degree C
➢ Salinity â€"œ 1.026
➢ Ph â€"œ 8.1
➢ NO3 â€"œ 5 â€"œ slightly higher than last week. Must be due to the add feeding now that I have more fishes in there
➢ Ca â€"œ 390
➢ Mg â€"œ 1320
➢ dKH â€"œ 7.4
➢ PO4 â€"œ 0.11 â€"œ come down a little compare to last week but still a long journey
➢ Potassium â€"œ 380 â€"œ holding well with my 2x weekly 3ml dosage of K Balance

This weekend I continue to relocate the remaining corals into my new tank…. The goal is to close down the current tank once this weekend is over…. :p

I did not switch on my Co2 Cylinder yet as the CR is still working great without.

Initially last weekend I move all my LPS, and softies over (which was the easy part) and then follow by my SPS over a period of 2 weeks, which is a lot more work and time involved…

THE DIPPING PROCESS…….

THE DIPPING PROCESS…….

For those who is interested in my dipping process, before placing them into their new home, I dip all my SPS and Zoa with Coral Rx… (better safe than sorry)

CoralRx.jpg

I have never used this Coral dip prior to this but was recommended by friends of mine so I’m giving it a try (I’m a sucker to try new stuff), as you don’t find other ‘All-in-One’ dips brands out there…. anyone uses this before?? Feedback??

This is an extract from their website:

Coral Rx is proven to eradicate the following common coral pests:
• Acropora Eating Flatworms “AEFW”
• Red Flatworms
• Montipora Eating Nudibranchs
• Zoanthid Eating Nudibranchs
• Bristleworms
• Zoanthid Eating Box Snails “Sundial Snails”
• Zoanthid Eating Spiders
• Some Filamentous “Hair” algae
• …and the list just keeps getting longer!

Coral Rx is made in the USA from 100% natural ingredients.

Directions
Add 4-8 ml to 1 gallon (3.8l) of saltwater from tank. Dip for 2 to 10 minutes while shaking coral in solution to assist with pest removal. Rinse with saltwater and place back in to tank. Repeat in 1-2 weeks. Test product on a small portion of coral before treating entire colony. DO NOT ADD TO TANK! Store in a cool dark place.

After a 5-10mins dip, all my frags are glues onto frag plugs (I used epoxy and Super glue â€"œ gel type) and place in my MPT with a slower flow until the epoxy gets a chance to dry up. This will also give the corals time to acclimate to the new tank conditions and lightings. Of course I also look out for Acro crabs as well…. found 9 to-date, out of which 3 is hairy Gorilla Crabs, and I’m please with myself I manage to get them off before they go into the main display!!:uzi:

FragsinMPTTank.jpg

After about a day in my MPT, I will move them into the main tank and place them onto my lower section of the pre-drilled holes on my rocks to slowly acclimatize them to the lights.

I know it’s a slow process but I think it’s worth it in the end, as I want to ensure all corals are in good condition before moving them into the main tank.

Corals in poor condition are either frag or removed which unfortunately quite a fair bit as during these few weeks, I sort of neglected my tank and at one time my dKH dosing tube slip off for a few days so cause some of my SPS to RTN and to top things off, there was a power failure for a couple of hours 3 weeks ago!! :furious:

Larger colonies are simply place directly into the tank after the dipping process.

keep up the good work Ed!

I have a question,
how do you like your LED lights and your controller?
